Wedding Dress Online

Jackie, on July 11, 2019 at 11:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
I am thinking about ordering a dress online off of David's Bridal. Has anyone done this? What were your experiences & how easy is it to make a return? Would you recommend ordering a size larger?

I know ordering online is risky, however I get terrible anxiety & insecure when I have to go to a salon and try on clothes in front of others. I feel I will be more relaxed in the comfort of my own home.

Very risky to order online...many dresses fit differently then you would expect. My dress is a size 10 and I am A size 12-14. David’s has a pretty non lenient policy when it comes to returns. I would go in and have them measure and try it on in the store. They can help you with sizing.

I know you said you aren’t comfortable trying stuff on in front of other people, so maybe you could try it on in the dressing room and just not come out with all the mirrors? Or maybe call and ask them what their least busy time of the week is and see if you can schedule an appointment then. I’m pretty sure that they don’t have a very forgiving return policy. And if you order online and don’t actually like it, then you are stuck.

I am in the same predicament! The dress that I have my heart set on getting is actually in another state. . . and obviously, I don't have the time nor money to travel at the moment so I'll be getting mine online as well. I'd suggest trying on some dresses at a local wedding boutique so that you'll, at the very least, have some sort of idea of what type of dress will best fit for you.

I agree with Melissa. You don't have to leave the dressing room. I would definitely try dresses on as you never know how they will fit and DB does not allow returns.

I would recommend azazie! They are an online retailer with dresses in the 300-500 range. For 15 dollars, you can have dresses shipped to your home to try on and they do custom sizing if you'd like.

Totally understand, but with wedding dress sizing being all over the place, going into a boutique would be very helpful. You can choose to not come out of the dressing room, or even do a search on Instagram to see real brides wearing the dress.
