Wedding dress on a budget

Jennifer, on March 26, 2019 at 10:40 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

Hi all! I bought my dress on a real whim last October when I stopped in, of all places, at Torrid. I caught it on clearance, it's ivory lace, off the shoulder, and it has a sweep train. In all honesty, the lace is a little cheap, but given that it was $115, and all I've needed to do is hem the front and add a sparkly belt, it's SO comfy! I definitely feel like a princess in it. Anyway, they've brought that dress, as well as several others, back for the spring. It's a little more expensive, but if anyone is looking for a dress under $200, and you fit Torrid's sizing, it's a fantastic option. Not right for a black or white tie wedding, but for our afternoon garden ceremony? Perfect. I've noticed that Unique Vintage, online, is also carrying several wedding dresses in the same price range. I'm on the hunt now for a dress to change into for the tail end of the reception and the getaway.

You could check out JJ's House online for your second dress! The reviews are pretty good. I personally haven't bought a dress from this company but my mom has ordered several dresses from them for my brothers' weddings and other events and she said she has never had a problem!

Good job!! i always advise other brides dress hunting that they should get out of categories, if you limit yourself to something that's just "wedding dress" it makes you not able to go beyond and see that there are prom or evening or other types of dresses that are just as nice and fancy and often times cheaper. the goal should be a beautiful dress you like that you want to use for a wedding, rather than finding specifically a categorized wedding dress.

It's funny, this actually is a wedding dress! Train and all. The store came out with an affordable line of wedding appropriate dresses, and I got the most formal one. I actually also ended up altering it greatly by adding beaded lace to the hem, collar, and cuffs, upping the formality of it. I'm getting a mermaid slip to go under it, and it'll end up looking like a proper formal gown!
