Wedding dress issues

Caylin, on July 20, 2020 at 9:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Hey yall!

I got my dress back in Feburary for our October wedding and it zipped all the way. I recently decided to get strict with my diet and workout everyday to get toned for the wedding. Well, I tried it on last week and it didnt zip all the way up. 😭 I lost 15 pounds so far so I'm not sure what the problem is. Do yall know if a seamstress could take it out a size or two? Is that standard?

Maybe you could add a corset back. It looks nice and maybe the seamstress can add a corset inside the dress to create the curve you desire 😉

I added a corset back to mine because of my proportions, it seemed easier than letting out the bust and hips and taking in the waist. I’m not sure about letting out two sizes, maybe one.

It could be because you built muscle. And yes, they can let it out depending on how close it is to zipping

Most dresses depending on manufacturer can be let out 1-2 sizes.

You may lost weight but gained muscle. I would speak with your seamstress to see what she suggests.

I would definitely check with your seamstress about the letting it out or adding a corset. remember although you lost weight, you probably gained muscle in those sames area which added some new inches you weren't expecting.

My dress was big when I brought it in and my seamstress told me that was a good thing because it's super difficult to let a dress out. I'd look into the corset option but if you've been actively working out and eating clean, I'd put it off for as long as you can so your weight will be more accurate. Good luckSmiley smile

First of all, I would take a deep breath and relax! Your dress definitely be made to fit you, do not worry Smiley smile Seamstresses can work some serious magic and make anything you can dream happen! You have time to make sure your dress fits you perfectly. I do agree it's most likely because you gained muscle. But they can certainly let your dress out or add something to make sure it fits you perfectlly. Beautiful dress, btw!! I had a friend who bought a dress and it was literally 4 sizes too small, some how her seamstress made it work!!!
