Wedding Dress Hangers?

That'll Be Mrs Small 2 U, on February 8, 2017 at 9:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 39

Anyone buying a special wedding dress hanger? I want to order one from etsy but wanted to get opinions to see if i should really spend the money on something that kind of honestly seems unnecessary.

It makes for a great photo but I didn't have one.

I'm wanting to change all of our closet hangers to wooden ones anyway, so I'm using the wedding as an excuse to buy some of them and will have enough for all the BP to use for photos - they have to return them though, and they're just plain wooden ones. I love the personalized ones but I can't justify spending the money!

I bought hangers for me, my mom, and my BMs from Etsy. I thought they were cute and I had the budget for them. I put their first names on them instead of "bridesmaid" so they would want to use them after the wedding. Mine said Mrs. Knolle.

I brought an 8 pack of hangers from ikea and will either hand write them out or use vinyl. Check Pinterest. It's not necessary but a cute photo touch.

Here's mine.. I only have one for me, but I'm probably going to get one for our daughter (flower girl) so I can get pics of our dresses together.

Unnecessary in my opinion. I'm just not a big fan of the way they look.

I just ordered mine the other day. They're not necessary, but in a thread a few weeks ago someone mentioned that not buying a nice hanger qas one of their regrets.

I got one from DeLovely Details on Etsy and it's so beautiful. It has bigger shoulder areas, almost like a jacket hanger for men, to hold the dress up. Super stoked to use it!

I thought about it, but it seems unnecessary. I actually found a wooden hanger my FH has hanging in his closet so I commandeered it for my dress. My girls don't really care so no worries there!

I made mine. I bought an 8 pack of hangers on Amazon for $12 and painted their names using a stencil. I used my cricut with gold glitter vinyl to put on the title and date. I'll be adding Mrs. Kuenzie to mine too yet.

I used vinyl for the title and date so that if they want they can peel it off and just have the hanger with their name.

Wow, ok, I'm so sorry to clog up the forums with multiple questions that i have Kate........I will just read other peoples post and not post many questions in hopes other people have the same questions as i do. Posting 4 different questions about 4 totally different things in one post seems silly to me.

They are very cute but totally unnecessary. Are you really going to cherish a picture of a dress on a hanger? I'm not even doing getting ready photos so it would really be pointless for me. I have my photographer for 8 hours and my wedding is from 4-11. I'd rather have him stay later at the reception plus I'm selling my dress afterwards. The hanger would just get tossed or sold.

Something you could do is ask your photographer if they have a specialty hanger. I don't think it's something all photographers own, but I know some us do. Just something to try! Smiley smile

Yes..your photographer may have a prop that says 'bride'. It does look pretty with the dress.

There's some on Etsy for less than $10, so make sure you look around if the cost is what's limiting you.

I got one for myself and my sister (MOH). Mine has Mrs. LastName and my sister's just had her name. I still have mine and it sits/leans on my nightstand. It's pretty cute. Necessary, no. Cute AF, yes.

A lot of photographers will recommend using a nice hanger - it doesn't have to be a special custom one with your name, but you'll want a nicer hanger than like a wire one for the dress pictures!

One of my bridesmaids got me a "Mrs. Last Name" hanger as an engagement gift, but the wire was black so you can't really see it at all in pictures. I also got personalized hangers for my bridesmaids for like $10 each off Etsy and thought they were really cute!
