Wedding dress fitting

Lena, on May 16, 2019 at 12:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Hi everyone, quick question. My wedding is September 27th and my wedding dress has arrived but I haven’t scheduled my first fitting yet. How soon should I schedule the first fitting? Or how much time should I give myself for the fitting and if I have to do alterations? Thank you for your help!

My wedding is 9/7. When my dress came in and I went to see it/try it on they told me at the shop to call in June to schedule my first fitting, so I imagine it would be a similar time frame for you as well.

My wedding is September 28th! Almost twins! My bridal shop suggested coming in for my first fitting in mid July. They suggested calling for an appointment 4-6 weeks in advance. So i will call for an appointment beginning of June.

Try on the dress ASAP to verify that it came in right (size, color, quality). Then schedule your alterations appointments for later in the summer. But I wouldn’t recommend leaving the dress unseen until you go in for alterations.

I'm getting married on 9/7 and had my first dress fitting in April. It's going to be about 6-7 weeks for them to make the necessary changes and my second (and hopefully final) fitting is at the beginning of June. It never hurts to have the dress with you way in advance! It actually makes my summer a bit less hectic.

I’m September 20, and had my first dress fitting about 2 weeks ago. They wanted to get the first one in before prom season hit hard. They have me scheduled for my 2nd fitting at the end of June and I’ll see what else needs to be done from there

My wedding is 10/17. i had my first fitting a few weeks ago. that was about an hour long, and we did a lot of talking. i have an appointment set up for every month from now until the wedding. i plan on losing a little bit more weight so the amount of appointments i have is so she can make adjustments to the pins. i'm having a bustle done, a hem in the front, cups will be added and the top needs to be taken in. if you intent to loose weight, my guess is your seamstress will have you come back for multiple appointments.

I also wanted to lose a few more pounds just to tone up but it doesnt really change too much of how the dress is fitting. The top is big so im taking that in but I think thats pretty much it.

I think a lot depends on the materials too. My top is lace so she's waiting to take anything in just so she's not reopening a seam too many times and ruining the lace.
