Hi guys!
Long time follower, first time poster. These forums have helped me tremendously so if I can help someone else out there I’d love to do it.
im a 5’6 curvy bride - 36 28.5 43.5 . I’ve lost 40 lbs (currently at 179) and am hoping to lose 20-30 more. I’ve had some awful dress shopping experiences (thanks couture and big hips/thighs/booty). I put off gown shopping for as long as possible, terrified that I’d be mortified not to fit in sample sizes (there’s not much you can do about thighs/hips, clips work great for bust and back). I’m getting married 9/12/2020 and I was running out of time to order, so I begrudgingly went today with only my mother.
I had the BEST experience. The consultants at two local boutiques were so friendly, helpful, and wonderful. Whether they meant it or not, told me my body was made for bridal wear and that it’s not often someone walks in with the proportions the designers have in mind. I went to places where non-plus size samples ran 10-14 and there was only one dress I couldn’t fit over my butt. Fit and flare, mermaid, and trumpet were styles I never thought I could pull off, but this style looked the absolute BEST on me, and each looked better than the next!
So please don’t let size hold you back or dampen your experience. These gowns are wonderful and there are professionals out there who’s job is to make you look and feel comfortable and absolutely gorgeous. Have fun and enjoy the opportunity to look and feel like a princess 👸
I said yes to dress #3 at bridal store #1- Stella york 6176. We kept a second appointment and tried on many many more styles just because.
