I am a plus size bride & I have found the perfect dress! As soon as I walked into the bridal store the dress stood out to me & I felt in my heart that was the one. Being a plus size, they didn’t have my size in that dress in store. I tried on same silhouettes & similar dresses from the same designer. They were all beautiful & reassured me that the one I love would be perfect. The dilemma is my wedding date is in August & if I order within the next two weeks, the dress would arrive early June. However, I have not physically tried on the dress. I need advice: any brides ordered their wedding dress without actually trying it on? What were the results? I’m conflicted here because the order date is quickly closing in. I have a gut feeling that I should just order the dress because I don’t want any regrets knowing that this is the perfect dress. I think if you tried on a similar style with the same silhouette you would be safe! Is the dress the same color as the ones you tried? Sometimes white vs ivory can make a big difference with skin tone.

That dress I’d beautiful it look very similar to mine. I bought my dress without trying it on as well and it fits perfectly. I may take the waist in a but as it’s significantly smaller than my hips. But if I don’t no one will notice anything but me.

I agree with the people saying it should be fine if you tried on another one with a similar silhouette. If it’ll make you feel better, you might even try to find a match for each aspect of the dress, so in addition to the silhouette try on a dress with similar sleeves, neckline, back, etc, as many components as you can find in the store. Early June will still give you enough time for alterations if anything doesn’t look quite the way you’re envisioning. That dress is a absolutely GORGEOUS, so I can see why you’re in love!

Also, most bridal gowns require alterations even if you order it in your size. So keep in mind you’ll have about 2 months for alterations, which seems reasonable to me! Good luck

Sometimes shops can request a sample in your size. Ask them to do that.

The little issue with a dress in the store is that it may have stretched some if enough people tried it on before. Give some consideration that the dress probably would fit looser than one freshly shipped.
