Wedding dress decision

Sarah, on February 17, 2020 at 1:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
When I went dress shopping, I fell in love with a dress and I bought it. After seeing other people’s wedding dresses in some wedding planning support groups, I think I want to change my dress. I need opinions and ideas on what to do.

It could be dress envy. I remember for me I loved my gown but whenever I saw other people’s it made me think wow those are pretty ugh but I’d still love mine.

Well I think you fell in love with your dress for a reason. Seeing the other brides dresses, although it works for them it could possibly not work for you. If your heart is telling you to continue looking, it wouldn’t hurt to do so🤷🏽‍♀️

I wouldn't worry about other people's dresses, whatever looks good on you and you're comfortable in. I haven't seen anything close to my dress in any of these forums because lace and flowy is not what my dress is like at all, that is a very popular style these days which I found out when I went shopping and it was nothing what I wanted, pretty just not my vision!

    Hi Sarah,
I think many of us brides have a period of dress regret, I've been told that it's not uncommon.
I ❤️ looking at wedding dresses, it was so exciting to shop for mine, I tried on over 30 before I found my dream dress, and even then I kept envisioning myself in my second most favorite dress for months, you'll be fine!!!!, you will be STUNNING in YOUR dress
The mermaid dress was my second most favorite.Wedding dress decision 1

Thank you, the thing is I love my wedding dress, it is just not the one style I fell in love with. The dress I bought is very me. The dress style I absolutely love, the dress store I went to does not carry that type of dress. I am thinking maybe getting that other dress to wear for the reception.

I have the same dilemma and I'm still trying not to think of the second dress that I also like.

Try to never compare your dress to anyone else's, wish you had the dress someone else has, or have dress regret. I know it is fun to look at everyone else's dresses, and it is fun to look at all the new styles and designs coming out each season, but you chose your dress for a reason! You love it and it looks great on you! You also have to remember that every bride has a different budget and body than you. So comparing one brides dress to yours isn't being fair to yourself.

Dress envy is real, my friend. If you fell in love with your dress, then I would say keep it. It never hurts to look around if you're unsure, but it sounds like you picked your dress for a reason Smiley smile

Dress envy is so common. Wedding forums and pinterest don't help. But, if you still love your dress then there doesn't seem to be a problem. Of course there's more than one beautiful dress out there, but that doesn't mean that you made a mistake. You found a great dress for your style, body, budget, and venue. That's no easy task! Just let it be.

The same thing has happened to me. I waver in and out of being happy with my choice but I keep reminding myself of how amazing i felt when i tried it on. Also, it wasn't even in my size so I can't imagine how much more i'll love it when i go try it on in my size !! Also, I think it kind of is annoying how early you have to try them on since new collections come out etc and so there will always be something new and pretty that we like and it's like..you only get to pick one!! which can be tough especially when they're all so pretty. My advice- stop looking at pics of it, I had to. Also, stop browsing at other gowns.

    Smiley heart you'll be beautiful
