Wedding Dress Cleaning & Preservation

Chelsea, on May 12, 2017 at 5:33 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

So my wedding day has passed, we had a wonderful time and it was absolutely beautiful! My dress was beautiful but now it's looking a little dirty. I want to have it cleaned and preserved but there isn't a local company that can do this for me without having to drive 2+ hours. I'm nervous about using one of these dress preservation companies online. The shipping worries me plus they send the dress back in a display box and who knows if it was cleaned properly? Has anyone used one of these companies without any problems? Any advice on dress preservation?

A local dry cleaner should be able to do it.

I went to my local drycleaner and it was $250 in New York City.

I used Davids bridal they can do it. It was shipped to me no problem. Completely sealed and it even comes with a certificate and what they did to the dress.

I third the cleaners. My local one even advertises that they do it.

I called the shop where I bought my dress for recommendations on cleaning/preservation, maybe your local bridal shop will have some info. I'm going the drop it off/ship to company route so I'll let you know how it goes!

Thank you everyone! I will call the bridal shop I bought my dress from and see what they say. I know some of our local cleaners can clean it but I'm not sure if they can really preserve it. I will do some calling around to see. Just want it to be done right, y'all know how that goes!

I paid $140 for cleaning and preserving at my local dry cleaners in NY. I trust them since they handle all our laundry needs with care and have high reviews.

Any local dry cleaner can do it. A lot of bridal shops do it as well
