Wedding dress calling petite brides!

JJAF, on August 2, 2018 at 12:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
Recently went wedding dress shopping and found out I like a-line ballgowns! I’m petite at 5’1”. Any brides here that are petite and have pictures of them in ballgowns?! I don’t wanna be swamped but I’m not a fan of the right former fitting dresses on me. Thanks!!

I'm 5'3 so a little taller. If you feel that the ballgown overwhelmes your shape a little, you can always take out some of the underlayers. Would be better on a petite frame but still keep the shape of the dress. They showed me the difference at the bridal stores.

You can always do an in-between if you’re afraid of being overwhelmed by your dress! I’m 5’0 and here are two dresses that feel like ball gowns but don’t overtake me! The left is my wedding dress!

I'm 5'2" and 110 lbs. I posted this discussion awhile ago, https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/which-dress/a67375f6458ab128.html about me trying on dresses at 2 salons! The one I like ultimately isn't an A-line, but in the comments I posted pictures of me in a couple A-line gowns, mermaid gowns, and sheath. Hope this helps! I didn't take pictures in any ball-gowns, they were way too big!

This is my dress which is pretty A-line ballgownish. You can't tell because I'm standing on a pedestal, but I'm only 4'10. There's absolutely no reason being petite should deter you from going with a fuller silhouette. Do what makes you feel the most beautiful!

I’m 5’3” but tiny. Like sometimes the smallest size in a store is too big on me. I was like you. I started trying on the more fitted mermaid dresses and was so disappointed. Then I tried on an A-line and LOVED it. You can always try dresses with less full skirts if you feel like your getting swallowed but I felt like the filler skirts looked really good because they accent your waist. I wound up buying the second one but the first one was a close second.
