Wedding dress buyers remorse/ anxiety

Brittney, on March 4, 2020 at 12:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Did anyone else have a wonderful bridal dress experience but have a case of anxiety or “what if’s” as soon as you left? I picked a wonderful dress but all I can think is “I picked too fast,” “the perfect dress is out there still,” “maybe a different silhouette would have been better”... I feel crazy! Anyone else feel the same? How did you handle it?

Did you check with the bridal shop to see if you can return it? If it is still super close to when you purchased you may be able to return it.

I def have been overthinking mine. I think because the only pictures I have of myself in it, are taken by my grandmother sitting, so the angle of the pictures of me in it are TERRIBLE. I go in for my first fitting at the end of this month, and I have total anxiety about it.

This is normal. I had dress envy rather than regret. So I loved my dress but I would see photos of other gowns out there and think to myself like man.. THOSE are pretty too! But then I’d look back at my gown and think ok but I love this one aha. It’s just the idea that we know there are other options out there we hadn’t seen yet before choosing that makes us doubt

Yeah that is normal. I am returning to the bridal shop to try on others and maybe I will exchange or maybe i won't. Try on some more if you want to.

I definitely had that for a minute. I mean I adored my dress and left confident. But then I thought back and I picked it so quick. So I took a couple days. Didn't look at other dresses or mine. Then i went back and looked at the pic of me in it and immediately felt great again. Haven't worried since. I also try not to look at other dresses. I think this is normal. So many options! This is just what worked for me Smiley smile

I fell in love with my dress as soon as I tried it on. I had the case of what if’s while I was still in the dress. I bought it and when it came in I still love it. I still get the what if’s when I see other dresses and think oh man I wish I tried that on but that’s only because they look so good on the models. I just keep telling myself I love my dress. (Because even if some days I don’t I’m not throwing out 2k for another dress).

This is TOTALLY normal Smiley smile I was sick to my stomach when I left the store the first time... did I buy the right dress? what if it's totally wrong?

Dress anxiety is real. Just remember that you chose it for a reason! And you're going to look amAZING!

I agree with this. Big time dress envy (not doubt). I had it almost immediately after I purchased my dress... wondering if I'd robbed myself of the experience of trying on tons and tons of gowns. It's normal!

I had it too. I actually liked a dress that I had found online best in person. Even at the shop I was doubting it because what if I just wanted it because it was the dress I’d been stalking?
But it truly did look best on me and fit what I want for my wedding, so I’m looking forward to seeing it again when it comes in. Hopefully by then they’ll also need to take it in a bit Smiley winking
