Wedding dress but no alterations

Jeana , on June 20, 2018 at 8:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 9
Has anyone walked down the aisle with no alterations to their dress. I mean mine is only the length that is really killing me any tricks I can use because I def do not have the money to pay for alterations, the FH just got laid off from work and I still have to find a way to pay the vendors ughh. So stressed out hoping I can pull this off myself.

Unfortunately I don’t have any tips for you, but I just wanted to say I’m so sorry. I can’t imagine the stress you’re under right now. I hope this leads your FH to find something he loves even more and is better for him in the long run. xx

My dress fit perfectly except for length as well. I have seen some people who sew a loop at the bottom of the dress that they can put their wrist through so that it holds the dress up from dragging. That could be an affordable way to deal with the length.

Did you already get your slip? They have them way cheaper on amazon than in bridal shops. Same with veils and tiaras. Maybe a fluffier slip to puff it out and make it a little shorter? If not look for a local seamstress, they will be way less expensive than the ones at the bridal shop. I'm using one at a dry cleaners that my MOH has used before. I'm so sorry, hopefully he will find something soon.

I appreciate that, I’m just trying to keep myself busy and find little side jobs to do so I can hopefully pay everyone off. Thanks again

That is a good idea o will have to look into that, it seems pretty simple just not too sure if it would work for my dress. Thank you for the tip about to do some research now

What is the fabric? Mine is all tulle so I'm just going to cut it myself. There's enough layers that you wouldn't be able to tell if it was a little uneven.

Is it too long or too short? PS I had zero alterations done to my dress. None at all.

What does the bottom of the dress look like? If it is plain, a simple hem is all it needs. Mine doesn't need anything but a hem, and I'm doing it myself (with the help of my MOH to pin it for me) since I have fairly extensive sewing experience.
