Wedding Dress Blues

Fisher, on June 26, 2019 at 5:58 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
Hey everyone! So my weight has been up and down since my amazing fiancé proposed to me. I keep having dreams I won’t be able to fit into my dress the day on my wedding 🤦🏾‍♀️. How many of you tried your dress on multiple times before your alterations? You know just to make sure it still kind of fits lol.... is it bad luck to keep trying it on?

I've tried my dress on a million times lol. I'm trying to get my jewelry/veil look right. I don't think its bad luck but I'm sure it puts some wear and tear on the dress so I'm trying not to do it as much.

I don’t think it’s bad luck at all. You will try it on for various reasons before you get married. Good luck

I literally just had a dream about this not to long ago. No one other than my FH lives close enough to help me try it on since my original fitting so now I am super paranoid. I tried to tie a piece of ribbon to the zipper and pull it up but that didn't work too well lol. Our wedding shower is coming up soon, about 10 days so while my cousin is in town I am going to get her to help me since she is the only one that knows what the dress looks like.

I will say that since I had that dream, that I did buy another dress lol. I was at Ross shopping for a shower dress and found a dress so similar to my wedding dress style but obviously not as wedding dressy and it was only $20 so I bought it for a backup. These wedding dreams are horrible!

Girl, I am so mad at my weight. I am too nervous to even go dress shopping.

It’s not bad luck, just be careful with with it! (I once heard a pop trying mine on at home. I was soooo paranoid I busted a button I freaked out, but. It was just a tiny bead the fell off onto the floor — but lesson learned ! The more I play with it the greater chance for something going wrong )

At any rate, don’t sweat the fit too much pre-alterations. A good seamstress will alter it to fit!

Lol! I don't think it's bad luck at all! I actually didn't try my dress on that much because I live with my FH and he barges in at any given moment lol I'm getting married in less than 3 months and have put myself on a strict water diet because I'm also afraid I won't be able to fit on the day of! Man do I miss juice Smiley cry

I ordered my dress and my weight fluctuates regularly. The dress can't be let out so I have to try it on regularly to make sure it still fits. I can't wait till October so I can enjoy food again.

I didn't try it on before alterations, but it was also stored at my MIL's house. I had my final fitting last week and my wedding is on July 20th. It fit perfectly and my seamstress told me not to lose any weight, but I'm also terrified of gaining any weight! It's still with the seamstress for her to steam, and I pick it up the week of the wedding so fingers crossed!

Try intermittent fasting! It works miracles! You don’t have to starve yourself or restrict what you eat much!

Praying my seamstress can work a miracle because it is really big and my waist is really small, with round hips 🤦🏾‍♀️

Thanks! I definitely eat what I want but I drink water rather than soda or juice which used to be my go to.
