Wedding Dress -- BHLDN?

Nancy, on June 16, 2017 at 6:27 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

Hi! I haven't started shopping for my dress yet but I've been considering BHLDN. Curious how much you ladies have spent on dresses. I read the average is arouns $1,400, which astounds me because so many people I know/I thought the standard was to wear Monique Llhullier, Hayley Paige, etc. and those dresses cost more than that! Is BHLDN viewed as cheap/not as classy? Appreciate your thoughts!

I don't know what BHLDN is, but I had a Nicole Spose and it was $3,000. Worth every cent. I loved and love it.

Bhldn is beautiful and classy. You can find a real deal with their sales. Dresses for like 500$. Just went to a wedding where the bride wore bhldn and it was beautiful.

Name didn't matter to me. I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on a dress. As long as I look and feel beautiful that's all that matters to me.

I love BHLDN, I think their gowns are very elegant, ethereal, and modern. They appear to be very well made also! I considered them as well but ruled them out due to not being able to try them on before purchase, since there isn't a store near us. I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing a dress from there. Even if you got a wedding dress from a JC Penney or a thrift shop, I wouldn't judge you! I tried to spend under $1000 on mine. Everyone has their own personal budget, and that's not to be judged. $1400 is the average, you aren't obligated to spend that much and no one will judge you if you spend less or more on your gown! I love love love my BHLDN dress. I tried on a few in the store first and the ones I tried on were so soft and comfortable. The stylist described them as pajama like. There are even some dresses for about $500. There was one online that I fell in love with that wasn't in the store. It was actually on sale... originally $1,400 and I got it for $700. I was hesitant to buy it online, but I've read their return policy is amazing. The stylist told me if I found one online to just get it and try it on. You are not obligated to keep it. There is a 30 day return policy. So I figured I'd give it a go. I kid you not, I got the dress at my door in less than 24 hours! It was a great fit and absolutely beautiful. I am very happy!

I love BHLDN. Tried on a few dresses there one day just for fun and really liked the experience and service.

@Charda, BHLDN is just a stylized version of "Beholden".

Mine is a casablanca I got on sale, then bought straps to add. I've spent about $1,200 On it. I went to a salon during a semi annual sale. After researching it is apparently a 2012 design which is why it was on sale.

I loved their dresses but I was afraid to buy a dress without trying it on. Yeah, I could've driven to Chicago to the store, but I absolutely hate driving into the city

BHLDN has some beautiful dresses that I was really excited to try in store after seeing online. However, as PP have said, many of them felt more like street clothes than bridal gowns. For example, most of the gowns I was looking at online felt more like a stretchy beaded bodysuit that a structured corset, which I wasn't expecting. This may be a pro or con for you, depending of how much boob support/tailoring you want.

My dress is Watters, but I bought it from Bhldn - they carry designer brands, as well as their own line. I've never heard Bhldn described as cheap.
