wedding dress at courthouse wedding?

You can wear whatever you want to a courthouse wedding. My understanding is that people show up in everything from jeans and flip flops to wedding dresses and veils.

I think it'd be perfectly fine to use the dress you have. It's still your wedding. =)

Wear it, and bring a photographer if your courthouse has a pretty staircase and such.

I dont know if they would let us take pictures in there but that's a good idea I will be looking into that

I was going to do a courthouse deal because I too want to put a good down payment on my home instead of a wedding but luckily I found a B&B that does small weddings and the price is fantastic but I would say to wear that dress anyway!!! It's your special day

I saw another girls dress on another post that I LOVE!!! And I think it would work out good. I made a post asking her to respond but I guess she is not on yet =(. If its not made for plus size I will keep mine

The way I see it, it's your special day so you should feel special. Don't settle for a simple white dress if that's not what you want.

There's a lot of style inspiration for elopements, including City Hall. SF has a really nice courthouse though, so photographs are naturally prettier. However, I've seen images of people go to the courthouse and then do their portraits at another location.

Are you planning on getting married 11/11/2011 at the courthouse? I would do some double checking, if I were you. November 11 is Vetran's Day, and in some states courts are closed that day. You might want to check and be certain the courthouse will be open and performing weddings on the day you've selected.

FH and I are getting married at the courthouse on Monday (yay!) BUT, we are only doing it for certain financial and other reasons, and we're not telling anyone we're getting married. Then, we're going to have our ceremony with our family/friends and the reception in about a year or so.

So, I won't be wearing my dress because I want to save it for my BIG big day, but I will be wearing a white dress. Our courthouse is a crappy little DMV looking building and when we applied for the license they said for the ceremony they just take you in this back room and it "only takes a minute". So I wasn't too excited about the idea of wearing a wedding dress in there.

But, if this is going to be your one and only big day, I say definitely wear it. Im' sure it happens there all the time.
