Wedding Dress Arrived!

Cassie, on December 5, 2017 at 12:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

My wedding dress arrived yesterday! (Ordered from Coco Melody). I'm loving it ... except one thing - my cleavage is making more of an appearance than I thought. I did try on the dress and I don't think I realized how much cleavage I had lol, but I also tried on a size smaller than I am (that was the sample size) so I thought that maybe had something to do with it.

My bestie/maid of honor doesn't think the cleavage is a problem. She loves it and thinks its gorgeous and it's not too much. I think I'm just uncomfortable because I don't really show cleavage normally, so it feels weird.

My question is, is there something I can do in alterations to make the cleavage not so apparent? Can I add fabric to it? Will that take away from the design? I'm going to call the store later.

Figured I'd ask for some feedback here or ideas! Cause I'm not sure exactly what the best solution would be so my boobs/cleavage isn't so out there lol.

I don't think that's too much boob at all!

Such a gorgeous and unique dress. You look fantastic.

ETA and just FYI it looks like this posted twice. You might want to hide the other!

You may be able to make the neckline a little straighter rather than sweetheart, and once it's sized correctly (it looks just a little big and the straps too long in the front, which means it will fall down more) I don't think it's too much but it's all about what you're comfortable with!

@EngineerInLove, yeah the straps are not tight enough, i have to get that fixed. make the neckline straighter, i didn't even know that could be possible, that is definitely an idea!

This dress is so beautiful and unique I love it! I think if you added thicker straps, or made the straps shorter it may provide more support to your boobs as well as decrease the cleavage. other than that I don't think its too much, but I understand being uncomfortable showing more skin than you are used to.

@Mrs. Fall Bride, the dress was actually custom made for my measurements. but the price i paid includes two alterations so I can definitely get things adjusted. I attached a picture of what it looks like on the model, but of course, the model has much smaller boobs lol. Yeah, I'm going to call the store and see when I can go in for my first alterations to get the top pulled up a bit more.

Wow that's really pretty! I don't think you are showing too much boob, but I feel like maybe it's a little big? When I tried the sample of mine on it was big in the top and as it slid down the girls were front and center. lol. Too big or too small it sounds like an easy fix, congrats, it's beautiful!

Love that dress! I got my dress from them too!!! I don't think it is to much cleavage but if you do that is all that matters. You could straighten out the line or you could add some riffs to it to cover some up. But I do agree with the others that once the straps are altered it may feel like less cleavage.

So pretty & unique! I love the pop of color on the top!

Def think that you'll feel better once the straps are shorter. You'll probably feel more secure too. That's a big issue with mine- I felt like I had way too much cleavage until the straps were shortened/tightened. I don't like having the girls out either so I struggled trying to find something that let me feel covered since I try to keep from having cleavage regularly. Also maybe think about widening the straps? Maybe you're also feeling a little exposed since they're thin and a little extra fabric will give you some more modesty.

If you aren't comfortable in it then get alterations. The last thing you want is to be self conscious in your wedding dress. I do think they could adjust the bust a bit so it sits higher on your chest. With the dress that low it makes you look top heavy. The bust of the dress should sit just under your arm pit.

You look amazing in the dress! I understand that you may feel a bit insecure with the amount of cleavage, but honestly, it isn't too much in this gown. Take it from a gal who is lacking in the ta-ta department, you've got it, flaunt it! I'm sure a seamstress would have better insight as to how to make the dress a bit more modest, but personally, I don't think you need to change a thing.

You look beautiful! I had a dress with thin spaghetti straps and felt that the boobage was a little bit much for me too, so I had my seamstress add some very pretty tulle Ruffles along the bustline....it look like it was part of the dress. I'll try and post a picture here for you! It was just enough so that I felt a bit more covered, I was so glad I made that small modification. :×)

I agree that maybe try adjusting straps first - straps always come to long for that reason, lol. it might help with the problem.

regardless, you should feel comfortable in your dress so, while i (and many others) dont think its too much cleavage, if you do, then definitely get it changed. you'll want to be comfortable in what youre wearing.
