Wedding Dress and Tux Nightmare!

Officially 2 weeks away and this past few days has been terrible. Let me begin with the tux story. My FH wanted a custom suit for our wedding so he went to JAB to see what they had. He got fitted and paid in full.The sales associate promised that he would have it by April 17th and could come in for the final fitting. No call by the 19th, so my FH calls them and is told “we don’t have your suit” and given a runaround. So I contact them and I’m told that it’s coming from China and since they stopped shipping due to covid, they don’t know when it’ll be in. Luckily, I got him over to a place that was able to get him into a rental that he is happy with. Move onto today. I go to my final fitting.. and realized that no amount of alterations are going to take away from the fact that the dress was ordered a size 20 when I was a solid 16 and told the SA I was losing weight (which I did drop another 30lbs) She told me that the designer runs small, and it’s better to go bigger and she has a degree in fashion design so she knows better etc. So I literally was swimming in my dress when I picked it up and prayed that alterations could help. Turns out, the entire dress would have to be taken apart and completely reconstructed in order for it to look like it’s a dress for ME. I am so upset and have been in tears over this. $1700 down the drain and another $700 on a custom suit that we had no idea would be coming from China. Now I need to go try to find something that doesn’t look like I grabbed it off the rack because that’s exactly what my “made to order” designer dress looks like on me now.
