Wedding dress alterations

My seamstress said that once the alterations are done, to try your best to stay the same size. However, we also started alterations about a month out. Is there any way you can get your alterations appointment closer to your date?

If you plan to lose weight, you will need to do so before alterations are started. So you will either need to be done losing by the 3 month mark, or push your alterations up to about a month out

If you plan on having your alternations done then losing weight after then the dress likely won't fit properly and you'd just end up having to have more alternations done.

I worked in bridal for 3.5 years. Alterations are typically done 6-8 weeks before the wedding, often closer to 4 if you plan on having your body shape change in any way. I’d strongly recommend rescheduling your appointment

Yeah I wouldn’t do that. I wanted to lose more weight before my wedding but when I started my alterations end of June I had to work to maintain the size I am and just accept it. Your alterations should be done later. I just had my final fitting 3 weeks before

I contacted my seamstress and she said we also have a final fitting 3 weeks before. I didn't know! Thanks for the advice !
