Wedding dress alterations?? 1

Wedding dress alterations?? 2
So I purchased my wedding dress and while I LOVE almost everything about it, and it technically needs no alterations at all, I am not in love with the slightly off the shoulder straps. I didn't mind them too much when I purchased it but I'm not a huge fan of how they look with my bridal cape since the straps cause it to sit more on my arms than my shoulders. I am wondering if anyone with sewing/alterations experience knows if it would be possible to convert these into a more straight up and down shoulder strap (not sure how to phrase it) or even remove these straps and put on more of a spaghetti strap? I am just curious if it's worth looking into or if I should just learn to like them....

I worked in bridal for 3.5 years- although I think it would probably technically be possible, I probably wouldn’t really it. The pleating in the front specifically continues onto the strap, and the dress would look considerably different if you were to change those. Would it be possible to alter and adjust the cape at all?

We tried pinning my cape a little differently and I personally thought it still looked odd being more on the side than on top if my shoulders. I attached more pictures that kind of show where i was thinking the cuts could be made and the red represents like the spaghetti strap, but im also definitely not a professional and don't know if it would work lol.Wedding dress alterations?? 3

I would agree, I'm no seamstress (just learn off YouTube) but it would look very different and a bit off in the front if you changed it.

Could you maybe have clear removable straps added on that the cape could be pinned to? Not sure how the cape sits, but I'd imagine it would cover the straps and then you could just take them off if you're not wearing the cape all day.

Again, I think it’s structurally doable, but I think the result is going to be a very obvious alteration, which I usually advise against. Assuming the cape is a light fabric, would it be possible to pin it in the front? I would focus on playing with different ways to arrange the cape rather than altering your dress, but if you did still want to alter it, a tailor should be able to do what you're describing.
