Wedding dress alterations near DC

I don't know where you are. Im in Ashburn and I am using Leesburg Bridal and Tuxedo. They are adding lace sleeves and a keyhole back for $230 and then doing the hemming and taking in for $120. The dress was strapless. They have great reviews. I go for my fitting a week from Monday.

@Miami, I have an appointment with Tangs next month. It actually makes me feel better to know a bride on here is personally recommending them.

Thanks for the responses - I need about 2-3 inches taken in overall (lace dress, it's too big all over) and hem/bustle.

It may be little too far from you but as a last resort you can try Curvaceous couture in Columbia MD. They have in store alterations and when I spoke to them on the phone they mentioned they charge 700 flat for whatever alterations you need to do. So in case if you're getting similar quotes ($900) at other places and have a lot of alterations needing to be done might as well pay flat fee. Just make sure to call them ahead and check their schedule since it's not in store dress.

I just had my first appointment on Saturday and I have a lace dress as well. I think what drives the cost up is the lace has to be removed and then put back on and all that has to be done by hand. Also if you have to have it taken in and hemmed that can be alot as well. Some places have a standard rate per hour that they may not come out and tell you, they'll just add it up. Just something to keep in mind when thinking about the price.

I went to Nazemi Bridal in Georgetown. I had three fittings and paid about $600 for hemming, adding the French bustle, inserting push-up cups, taking in the top of the dress (probably about 1-2 inches), repairing some lace, and steaming the dress and veil. She is fantastic and a true professional - I don't know what the cost will be for the alterations you need, but you'll definitely be in good hands.

Cherry blossom bridal in eastern market is taking in my dress, doing my bustle (French for underlayer and American for lace over layer), adding lace cap sleeves, and adding lace to my cathedral veil for $600. They’ve been a pleasure to work with.
