Wedding dress alteration anxiety

Linda, on August 19, 2023 at 9:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Hi all this is my first post but I have been reading a lot of discussions throughout my wedding process! I have finally reached a point of anxiety with my wedding dress fittings. I went to my final fitting and I am still not happy with the hem. My mom has been very vocal about my dress looking “f*ed up” and now I am in a full on panic since my last fitting. I am unsure what to do it if I will piss off the tailor if I go back and ask for more alterations after the final fitting. Any advice or reassurance would be great!

So... I was also not complete satisfied after my last alterations appointment. But the man I was working with said I was welcome to call and come back if I wanted to change anything. After two weeks and lots of anxiety, I called. They fit me in that week. And he was super understanding. I also was not charged extra. These people work with stressed out brides all the time. So don't worry about upsetting them. Part of their job is to work with stressed out brides and be understanding. Good luck!

Definitely go back! Your seamstress wants you to feel comfortable in your dress, and it is a display of their work. They will definitely not be offended if you tell them you want some more adjustments. Just be polite about it, and they’ll be happy to accommodate. But the longer you wait, the less likely it is they’ll be able to squeeze you in.
