Wedding Dreams/nightmares!

Tamera, on June 19, 2019 at 2:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
I had my first wedding planning dream last night! Here's what happened: I was still shopping for decor the morning of, but I was able to find some great stuff at the Dollar Tree. Then I got to the venue and my mom had cancelled my rentals and bought cheap tablecloths that were the wrong color and too short. Then I found out we were trying to decorate at the same time as someone else, and we were a day early!Omg, has any one else had any crazy dreams about things related to their wedding planning??

My wedding dreams always felt like things that I'm anxious about in particular. Are those things you're more anxious about than other aspects?

I actually felt like a couple of the wedding dreams I had were super informative and helped me figure out what was causing me stress and helped me resolve those issues! For example, I had a dream that some of my cousins missed our family photos after the ceremony, so the next morning I made sure to text my aunt to make sure they all knew to wait around for the photos and not to follow everyone else to cocktail hour. Also had a dream that I basically tuned into AFTER the wedding ended, and the way I was feeling was (1) THANKFUL that we hired our videographer so I'd be able to relive the day (we had gone back and forth on a videographer due to the cost, but this reaffirmed that deciding to splurge on one was the right decision!) (2) upset that I didn't have any photos to look at immediately--this resulted in me (in real life) having the idea to take my phone out instantly as soon as we got to cocktail hour and having my mom just take a few photos of us. Took 2 minutes, and I was SO glad to have the immediate gratification of those photos while we waited for the professional ones!

I also had a pretty nonsensical dream once about our flutist not knowing how to play cannon in D because he was too busy making casseroles for our reception (??? hahaha) I was never once stressed about his performance because I've known him for our entire lives and he's beyond talented, so no idea what that one was about!

Then actually the night before our wedding, I was up for several hours in the middle of the night (just jittery and anxious lol) and then I drifted back to a very light sleep about an hour before my alarm went off, and dreamed that it was pouring rain (there was actually forecasted rain on our wedding day but we didn't get a drop until the reception was over!) but that it had rained so hard that everything was flooded and we couldn't get out of the venue, and none of our guests could get in. Then I kept tuning in and out of the dream, and my mom (in the dream) kept telling me that I was missing everything because I was drifting in and out of consciousness since I was so tired! Lol, and THAT was a real concern. But, I woke up to my alarm feeling completely relieved, and felt exhausted but totally conscious and didn't miss a second of the day! Smiley tongue

I've had several wedding nightmares, and they're all jacked up versions as the stuff I was worried about, or cared about. For example, I spent a ridiculous amount of time designing our programs, and then I had a wedding nightmare a few nights later that we forgot them and didn't have them at the venue!

I have been stressing out about my makeup recently. Trying to find the right product for my overly weird oily skin. Well I finally found my dream product (it even stayed on at the beach and while swimming)!! In my dream I had run out a few days before the wedding and I needed it desperately but no one sold it locally and I could only order it and it wasn't going to come in till after I left on my honeymoon. So I drove to some out of nowhere store that claimed they had it and I got lost and missed my wedding.

I think so. I'm still deciding on what to do for our centerpieces, either make/buy/find my own items or rent. And I haven't decided on a rental company or what we want for that either! But I am just under a year away, so I have plenty of time, but I think I'm just nervous and I don't want to forget anything

I have yet to have any wedding dreams/nightmares but I think it's hilarious that my mom had one for us Smiley xd Apparently our wedding was a pool party and there was a bunch of random strangers that no one knew or invited. That was the gist of it and i'm sad she can't remember in detail cause now I'm curious.

I haven't had any but my mom has, she's been helping me a lot with planning. Apparently I forgot to send out invitations so no one showed up!

I haven’t had any wedding nightmares and we’re only 23 days away lol. My grandma had one last week though! She said I wouldn’t let her go get the water bottles and all the guests were so thirsty 😂 so random.

Oh, I had a weird one last night!

I was wandering around *somewhere* (it seemed like a dorm, or a big building) in my wedding dress. And yet there was no place to stand, so FH was standing on it, and ripped it...

Yeah, it was just weird and anxious and GAH.
