Wedding Dinner Only

Noel, on October 28, 2019 at 12:32 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5
We are having about 45 people at a restaurant for dinner. Should we ask if we can do the ceremony at the restaurant? And how should we entertain guests? I was thinking maybe a mariachi band and Imm not sure what else. Too small for dancing. Ideas? Thanks! 3-4hrs long

If there is space for the ceremony, I think that's fine! You could also look at local parks or other venues? Will you do speeches & first dance/parent dances? If so, I think people will be fine mingling for that long with dinner.

We had a friend that did their ceremony at the restaurant (I'd say about 50 people, tops) where they were doing the reception at. We just had regular music that the place had going on, but it was a private room. It was Appetizers & Mingling 1hr, Ceremony 20 min, Speeches 10 - 15 min, Dinner 1hr 30m, Mingling 30 min, Dessert & more mingling. I didn't feel forced to stay and I was having a good time, so it really just depends on your crowd if you should get a band or not... I don't think it's really needed if there's not dancing but it could be nice?

I did a restaurant wedding for about 40 and we just did light music. Didn't really need much more. It was about a 2 hour reception in a private room. The restaurant we chose also allows ceremonies so you can ask for sure. We had our ceremony at our church.

Yes this is a great idea! I wished we had done that. I was not interested in coming down an aisle, just gathering. We could have held the ceremony in the private dining room and then ate our food. Saved $500 at the arboretum!!! Go for it!

Definitely talk to the restaurant! you never know what they can do for you. I think some light music would be great for some mingling and even a little dancing could be fun.
