Wedding Dessert: Cake, Cupcakes, Or Both?

We are getting a wedding cake no matter what, but I know that won't feed everyone. I thought about getting cupcakes instead of a sheet cake, but FH doesn't think it's formal. Haha. So we are getting a 4 tier wedding cake and either a 1/2 sheet cake or whole sheet cake depending on how many are coming.

Neither! We are having donut towers and a s'mores bar instead.

I agree the cupcakes are super cute.

When were were planning a "regular" wedding, our plan was to have a dessert bar. Pies, lemon bars, cupcakes, brownies, etc.

What we actually ended up doing with our "Micro Destination Wedding" or what I like to call "Elopement" was we ordered our favorite: M&M Blizzard Chocolate Ice Cream cake from dairy queen. Its amazing!

Actually, the place ended up not making it and we had to go with something else. My MIL was pissed, because traffic was horrible and it took 2 hours to pick up but in the end it all worked out. MIL even found a cute topper for it on their way to our cabin that day.

I originally wanted mini cupcakes in several flavors and a small cake for us to cut but the lady I wanted to make my cake was just slightly over my budget and although I could of made it work I choose to use my caterer instead. My caterer is providing us with 3 different dessert shooters, Strawberry shortcake, blueberry cobbler, and Mississippi mud pie. I am purchasing a small cake for us to cut from a local grocery store, it won’t be decorated how I originally wanted but I’m ok with that, it will taste amazing.
