Wedding day timeline!

Cassi, on June 20, 2019 at 10:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

Whats your wedding day timeline? All my vendors are asking for an exact start time so I'm curious what everyone is doing?

What time will you get up? will you have pre-wedding pampering? When will you start getting ready to the time you walk down the aisle?

My approximate timeline (I think)

9am- coffee with girls and stylist

930am -11:30- hair for all 5 bridesmaids

11:45- noon - travel to venue (maybe find time to eat)

Noon- Photographer shows up to venue to start getting ready pictures

noon-2pm- family shows up to start decorating

Noon- 3:45: My hair and everyones makeup (I'm super excited about my bridal suite)!

3:45-4pm - Guests start seating and groomsmen start seating mothers

4:00 - bridesmaids and groomsmen start walking in and I follow shortly after.

4:30 -5:15- cocktail hour for guests and wedding party photos

5:30-7:30 Dinner

and thats pretty much all I have right now! still lost on exactly how the day will go.

Also slightly stressing about transportation.... we hired a bus company to run shuttles too and from the venue but one bus sits approx. 25 people and they only had one smaller one available. They had much larger ones but they weren't comfortable running them with tight mountain roads so thats what it was. So Our guests will start arriving at like 2:30 :/ until about 3:45 so I hate they ahve to wait around forever. Same with departure. Cabins are only 6 miles from venue but with mountain roads and unload times its like 30 minutes each way

I will just tell you now that you'll feel super rushed and time restrained. I felt that way on mine. Here's how mine went:

    830a wake
    9a hair
    1030a brunch
    12 get ready
    1p travel to photoshoot
3p travel to set up ceremony
    5p ceremony
6p reception start7p dinner serves730p make thank you rounds815p speeches830p cake cutting845p garter and bouquet toss9p open dance floor1030p everyone leaves

For the most part I did manage to sort of do things on time but not really ahah. We didn't serve dinner til 730p so everything pushed back but that was sort of a blessing. And before the event started I just felt like time went by so fast or not enough time for things.
The day will fly by but it'll be beautiful

    Here was ours:
    9:15am: wake up

    9:30am: bridesmaids arrive

    9:40am: I start my makeup

10:15am: hair stylist arrives for my hair

(during my HMU time, bridesmaids are also having HMU done by one of my other bridesmaids)

    11:40am: photographer arrives

    12:00pm: go downstairs for ceremony

    12:05pm: processional begins

    12:30pm-1:30pm: cocktail hour

Also 12:30pm-1:00pm: family and bridal party photos, and 12:50pm-1:15pm: bride and groom photos

1:45pm: Reception grand entrance (I think this ended up being a little late though)

2:00pm: lunch served (I think this was a little late too)

We ended up opening the dance floor around 3:00 I think, but that wasn't scheduled.

    4:15pm: cake cutting

    5:00pm: reception ends

    Hi Cassi Smiley smile

This timeline looks good so far!

    Your bridal suite is gorgeous!

I can see why you're stressed about transportation. I'm sure your guests will understand the little wait. Could you speak with the transportation company about your concerns and see if there is anyway another smaller shuttles could be brought in? I know you said they only have one available, however, perhaps the could rent or loan one from elsewhere. You never know what workaround they could come up with!

If this isn't possible, just make sure your guests are as comfortable in the waiting areas as possible. Have some bottled water for them and make sure they're aware where the access to restrooms are!
