Wedding Day Snacks/Food

FutureMrsBenson, on May 1, 2017 at 11:45 AM Posted in Planning 0 27

So I was wondering what is everyone going to have or do for food/snacks for the WP while getting ready. I know that we're going to breakfast the morning of but we'll start getting ready at 12 noon. Ceremony won't start until 5pm dinner probably around 6:30-7pm. (Not exact times) but just an estimate. So I figured we should have some snacks to get us through the day. I know my wedding is next year but I'm just trying to get an idea going.

ETA: Also food ideas for the groom & groomsmen?

Mimosas and bagels Smiley smile plus some fruit and cheese. The carbs were really helpful in settling my stomach!

What I usually see in the suites is cheese and fruit, wrap sandwiches cut small, muffins/danishes, cookies, mimosas, sparking water and coffee service.

For the morning, I had a bunch of breakfast items from Trader Joe's. Lunch we did deli sandwiches and protein bars.

Hardly any of my girls ate. I probably ate the most food, nerves lol.

These are all great ideas!!! I didn't even think about possible tummy issues!! That's definitely something to think about. I know I'm probably gonna be extremely nervous and anxious but I know I need to eat something.

If you are prone to tummy issues---pack some Imodium, pepto, whatever... I needed it for sure! We had fruit, yogurt, muffins, mimosas etc for bfast spread at hotel, then fruit and small sandwiches, with champagne in bridal suite at venue for girls....Guys went to eat BBQ for lunch, then had a cheese/meat plate in the venue while getting ready with some beer.

I was too anxious to eat more than a few bites of fruit all day, yet my tummy still managed to get upset....then was STARVING by dinner. My bridesmaids did make sure I stayed hydrated all day at least since I wouldn't eat.

@APZ will definitely pack those hopefully my tummy will be fine but just in case!! That's a good idea for the groomsmen. My fiancé will seriously go all day without eating but just because he's like that doesn't mean the groomsmen won't be hungry so I want to make sure they have some snacks for sure too. I have a feeling I'm going to be anxious as well I'm going to at least make sure I eat a balanced breakfast!! And stay hydrated for sure!!

My mom ended up getting a sandwich tray from the local grocery store for the girls since we were getting ready at my parents' house and the best man brought subs over for the guys at the hotel.

Definitely mimosas!! I'll be ordering some party trays from a local grocery store so we can snack during the day. There's a restaurant at the resort where we are getting married and staying so we may even go grab a bite or order room service.

Because we have to get ready in shifts at the salon, we will have mimosa's there along easy to pick up finger foods. Nothing that is going to cramp anyone up or feel bloated. There is a deli next door to the salon which I will probably just order from. The dudes will go to the gym then IHOP the go and shower and get ready.

@ MrsPotts, pretzel buns sound delicious!! lol probably because I haven't had bread in over a year but I think I'm going to for sure do sandwiches and hopefully I can find a lettuce wrap for myself or maybe a small salad. But I don't want my WP to suffer just because of my diet change. So I wanted to get opinions of what everyone else was doing or what items worked best.

I'm divorced, and the first time, I had sandwich trays from a local deli with fruit brought in for the girls. I plan on doing the same this time as it went over well before...and, I included my MUA, which I'll do again.

My FH and his guys will just go get something on their own since they won't be getting ready all day.

@countingdowntomrs I didn't even think about including my MUA... smh I'll definitely make sure we get extras for my MUA and probably photographer and videographer since they will be with us all day. Can't believe that slipped my mind. Luckily I have time to plan out all the details.
