Wedding day schedule- how much time for photos??

Julie , on July 23, 2018 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi ladies! I'm managing the stress pretty well for my Aug 4 wedding! The biggest stress though was after talking with the photographer. I want great pictures but it feels like the whole morning is bei ng designated for pictures (3pm ceremony) note I dont take a ton of selfies... so I'm not the modeling type anyways lol.
I want great photos, but also worry that I wont have enough downtime before the ceremony starts. How much time did you set for pre-ceremony photos with your girls. (I wont see the groom until I walk down the aisle)
Help!!

We only needed an hour or so for wedding party pictures.

My ceremony was also at 3 p.m. My photographer came at 12:30 to get the detail shots and getting ready shots. We did a first look from 1-1:30 then pictures with the wedding party and VIPs from 1:30-2:45. Our church was 10 minutes away. We did about 30-45 minutes of more pics after the ceremony at the church.

Ok that sounds more doable. And were not havi ng a first look, so all of us as a couple will be right after the ceremony.

We’re having a 12 noon ceremony and I am definitely not a morning person by any stretch haha, so I know myself and if I wake up before 8am I’m going to be extremely grumpy 😂 Needless to say, we’ll be doing most of our photos between the ceremony and reception. 9am-12pm is designated for getting ready and any extra time in that slot I suppose will be allotted to photos but we aren’t planning many posed pictures (beyond just “getting ready photos”) before the ceremony since FH and I also are not going to see each other until the ceremony

My ceremony is at 5:00. I am doing a first look with my dad at 2:00 pm, first look with my FH at 2:30, then doing bridal party pictures and immediate family pictures until 4:30. We will also be doing some pictures after the ceremony with extended family from 5:40-6:20ish.

Hi! Photographer and Bride to be here! From my experience of photographing weddings, I come as early as the bride wants me to. I ask her for a list of specific images she wants with certain details, with family members, friends, wedding part etc...I like to stay out of the way of everyone and focus on getting candid shots of everyone getting ready. Just being in the background to allow everyone to be relaxed and enjoy themselves! That list is so helpful for the photographer, that way they dont have to bother you as much! Maybe talk to your photographer and see if this is something that would help them and to help you to not be as stressed! Leave it all in the hands of the photographer to capturing your special day! Smiley smile
