Wedding Day P.o.c

Patricia , on February 19, 2019 at 6:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

Who is supposed to be the point of contact on wedding day?

I've realized I've put myself or my FH as the contacts for most of our vendors because we are the ones that know what we want and what is going on.

But this being our day, is that something I am going to want to delegate to someone else?

If you have a day of coordinator or wedding planner you can put them. Otherwise it would be you or your fiancé.

There are a few other options: you can hire a "day of coordinator" to connect with all of your vendors on the day of; you can designate a family member or close friend to be the point of contact.

I've known couples that have done these things, and it seems to work out pretty well. Also, check with your venue, to see if part of your contract provides for a day-of coordinator. Many venues do provide this.

I have a DOC but my MOH , who is basically my right hand, is also going to be responsible for handling anything that comes through my phone. If it's something shes unsure about shell ask me. I am also putting business cards in my invites with names and numbers for parents, moh, best man, hotel, and venue that says "please call anyone but the bride"

Up until the wedding day you and FH should be the main POC. (If you have a planner, they should be in the loop as well.) however, as a photographer, I can promise you: you won’t be near your phone most of the wedding day and neither will your FH. Either a day of coordinator or someone close to you (mom, MOH, best man, etc) should be the go to person for any vendors needing info on the day of. That person should be informed that they are a POC so they know to keep their phone close by. Nothing worse as a vendor than needing to get in touch with the bride for any reason and she doesn’t answer because she’s busy being a bride!! (As she should be!)

I’ll most likely leave my phone with my mom and she’ll be answering all the calls. Lol
