They are the same thing, just the venue I booked calls it Wedding day Management so that term is in my head.

I am not married yet, but for what it’s worth I was also going back and forth with the decision and ultimately chose to go forward with it. If it is within the budget I would definitely go for it. It allows you to just focus on getting ready and actually enjoying your special day. No need to handle any vendors or have to worry about any day of issues that may arise. It also takes away stress of set up and (most importantly) break down of the event. So you get to just leave with your new hubby and enjoy the married life! Haha

The Venue does handle the set up and clean up, So I don't need to worry about that and the DJ says with him he will be my coordinator between the other vendors and timing but it does have me skeptical.

I guess the only deciding factor if I was in your shoes is if I’d want to hire someone that I would consult with and make sure it’s the right fit, or just resist the DJ. If you feel confident in the DJ and feel you both have very good communication then save your coin LOL but if you don’t feel too confident, it wouldn’t hurt to just interview a few DOCs and see if they make you feel more secure or not

Not married yet, as my wedding date is October 23rd, but being able to know that I have help to keep me and everyone else in check as to where we should be, what we need to do next, etc., so I don't have to worry about it and lead myself into having a panic attack about it really puts my mind at ease.

In my opinion, Day of Coordinators are a must! They keep your day running smoothly, are the point of contact for all of your vendors, help with set up and break down, etc. These are all things that you will not have time to deal with on your wedding day.
