Wedding Day Foundation

Erika , on May 7, 2018 at 2:06 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Hi everyone!

I am planning to do my own makeup for my wedding. So far I feel pretty confident however I can’t seem to find the perfect foundation. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Or anything your makeup artist use?

So far I’ve only tried the Mac Pro Longwear liquid foundation but I feel like it’s too drying. I have “normal skin type” and would like something full coverage but that still looks natural! Thanks Smiley smile

I've heard Este Lauder Double Wear foundation is the bomb! My two MUA friends swear by it and is the main foundation they use on brides.

However, you have to get the one without spf in it (this goes for all foundations) because SPF will have terrible "flash back" in flash photography. This meaning that if you do low light or night pictures needing flash, the foundation will bounce back all the light making you look quite pale and having a "ghost face"

I have pretty “normal” skin too. I ended up just buying my own Temptu airbrush foundation and am going to do my own makeup. I’ve been testing it out for about a couple weeks, and it has been a game changer with the way my makeup looks. It’s extremely natural looking and lasts FOREVER on my skin.
If you’re into more traditional liquid foundation though, my recommendation would be Too Faced Born This Way. It has good coverage (without looking heavy and cakey), looks natural, and lasts really well. It’s one of my favorites. Smiley smile Also photographs well.

I'm planning on using Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, you can get sample trials of it at Nordstrom's or Macy's I believe. You do have to be careful because I do feel like it can easily because heavy looking if you don't have a good setting power to use with it. I like to apply mine with a beauty blender and set with Laura Mercier setting powder. A little can go a long way, it doesn't crease in my smile lines and my skin gets complimented often when I wear it. The only other foundation I've found I like more is the Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation, because it doesn't crease or transfer but the shade range isn't very large so it's hard to find a shade that matches. It also has a scent to it that can bother some.

I've heard really good things about the Makeup forever HD foundation but it creased horribly in my smile lines. I recommend going to sephora or another location and getting some samples to try for a couple of days before committing.

I have extremely normal skin, I tired several different foundations and my skin dried out so bad I bled, literally.
A friend recommended luminess airbrush make-up. It is Amazing! It does not cake or look thick. It does look very natural but you skin looks better than it did before. You can pick the amount of coverage you want, a small amount or more. I have rosacea and bumps, airbrush foundation has helped a ton!
Sounds like luminess airbrush could be perfect for you. Let know if you have questions, hopes, dreams, fears I'd love to help you out.
