Wedding day fear

Blair, on January 12, 2020 at 10:46 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16
My wedding day fear is my caking falling over. I don’t know why the thought haunts me but it does. What’s your fear?

That’s an interesting one! How many tiers is your cake?! Haha, I think you should be fine.

My biggest fear surrounding the wedding is that someone (probably on my side) gets angry and starts screaming/throwing punches because they don’t want me to marry this person. My fiancées dad is a bouncer though so I think it will be okay?

Mine was totally being sick or having cramps! Like I was so terrified I was going to wake up the morning of my wedding with a sore throat or something 😱 (didn’t though, thank god!)

I have a reoccurring dream that my hair and makeup are not done on time...my wedding is not until October so I hope this dream goes away!

Omg so many fears! We are having an outdoor ceremony with no contingency plan, so I’m terrified it will rain! My MOH’s hubby said he would tape the wedding for us so we didn’t have to break the bank on a videographer, but I’m so scared they are going to end up not being able to afford traveling for the wedding. I’m also scared of looking fat in my dress & in pictures.

I'm with you - before my mother declined to come, there was a fear she would be completely inappropriate. Then when she declined, it was that she'd show up, anyway. My father pointed out that she would likely be far to scared to encounter *him* (or DH), so she wouldn't do that.

So, after I got over all that, I think my biggest fear was simply that something would go wrong with the swordfight and someone would get hurt.

Mine would be that i get real bloated lol, I have a lot of stomach issues and sometimes my stomach can be evil to me. But the worst would be that my dad shows up. My father has not been in my life for years. He hasn't even meet my fh yet. My fh completely respects my decision on not inviting my father. My brothers gf is a weird woman. I am going to talk to her but i fear she will tell my father to come and try to "save" my relationship with him. Shes those type of people who try to but into peoples lives.

I have a completely irrational fear that my fiancé’s sister is going to have her new bf propose at our wedding. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s not realistic, but I can’t get the fear out of my head! And his mom causing drama, I keep running all the scenarios in my head in which she could potentially start problems.
I probably need to chill a bit haha, but we are paying for this expensive day ourselves and I’ve done so so much work for it, if anyone does anything to ruin our day I will flip 😱😬

Well there’s no sword fight at mine, but I do think I’ll be on edge until I know if my father is going to show up! Luckily my brother (who is my bridesman of honor) lives with him and can kind of take the temperature of the situation.

I didn’t have too many fears. Maybe my husband not being at the end of the alter when I walked out. I remember being so revleived he showed up, lol.
As far as the cake, my SILs cake did fall over. They had an outside wedding in May. It was HOT! and it had been sitting outside since before the ceremony. So, it melted. Keep your cake inside and cool and you’ll be fine. As long as you use a trusted baker they’ll know what they’re doing to keep your cake safe. 😊

I have a strained relationship with my father as well. He's coming but he will not be walking me down the aisle. I just want him to be a regular guest.

Yay for bouncer guests! I'm afraid that someone on fiance's side who wasnt invited will show up with their crazy girlfriend who was the reason he wasnt invited.
My MOHs husband used to be a bouncer and we have guests who are cops. So hopefully everything goes smoothly and doesn't come to needing them!

I had a slightly similar fear at my FBILs wedding worrying that my fiance might propose. I was so relieved when we left.

I haven't even bought it but more than likely it will be three tiers. I've heard horror stories of it happening and I've been nervous ever since.

My fear is being late getting ready and having everyone waiting. I had nightmares about it long before getting engaged!

One of my fears after having to cancel our wedding, was that we wouldn't find anything else. I think we might have found the perfect venue today so hopefully everything works out with this one. We're going to set up a tour and feel it out. It'll most likely be an elopement/micro wedding this time seeing as we took a big financial hit with the last one.
