Wedding date

Sooo we chose a date about a month or so ago (Nov 6, 2021) and just realized that it might be the weekend LSU and Alabama play... which is big for us since we live in Louisiana and he is a big football fan.
So i’m trying to pick a new date. Can’t do the weekend before Bc that’s Halloween weekend so I was thinking the weekend before that, Oct. 23, 2021 OR the weekend after, Nov. 13, 2021.
HELP PLEASE bc he’s being no help right now 😫

Why can’t you get married on the selected date?

I’ve heard of 📺s being utilized to check in on the game during Weddings.

I mean, if they can figure out how to listen to a game at a Funeral on Friends, then this shouldn’t be that hard. Incorporate it into the event.

I don’t want that to be the center of attention on my wedding night. LSU & Alabama is the BIGGEST game here. I want everyone there to celebrate me and my fiancé. Not the game.

I would personally go with October 23rd. I'm not sure how anyone on your guest list will plan their holidays but I think if it's closer to Thanksgiving, some people may or may not have plans to travel to meet with other family.

Have you thought about doing a Sunday wedding instead of a Saturday? Definitely opens up your date options, and they’re often cheaper through some vendors!

My wedding is December 17th 2020. It’s on a Thursday and a week before Christmas. I live in Rhode Island and it’s reallllllly small here. Half the people on my guest list don’t like to travel so i got lucky with that as well. Have you tried looking into Thursday’s? It’s more cheaper than Friday and Sunday's. We picked Thursday so we can fly out Friday December 18th to Thursday December 24th for our honeymoon. We’ll be back Xmas eve and just in time for our kids to open presents! (Spanish Xmas is the 24th)

Get married on Sunday. :-) You'll have the added bonus of saving some money.

I TOTALLY under your struggle!! I'm a Bama alumna and my FH is a huge Bama fan so when picking dates, we made sure it had to be a date Alabama had an off weekend if it was going to be in the fall (we ended up moving it to Leap Day). This year, we can't go to the Alabama/LSU game because one of FH's friends is getting married, and we're both upset about it! If they weren't close friends in college, we'd be skipping for the game.... I would do October 23rd because I love October!

P.S. RTR. Sorry.... couldn't help myself. Smiley smile

I like Oct. 23, 2021 the best. As long as you didn't have the date printed on invites or booked at a venue, you can change it as many times as you want haha
