Wedding Date!

Jasmine, on November 19, 2019 at 3:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

tenor.gif Okay so I want to get married on July 16th. In 2021 July 16th is on a Friday but in 2022 it’s on a Saturday. Do I wait an extra year and get married in 2022 so it’s a Saturday wedding or do I get married sooner and just do a Friday wedding even though most people work on Friday’s and some wouldn’t be able to attend on a Friday? HELP!!!!

It's gonna all be up to you. Are you willing to wait that long to get married? My wedding is October 2021 and I am having a hard time waiting till then. Do you have any guests coming from out of town? Do you think people will be able to help you with last min details?

Is it really that important to you to wait an entire extra year to get married to have it on a specific date? Any date you get married will be special, is it necessary to plan everything around that day? If people you want there can't make it on a Friday, then don't have it then, but if you don't want to wait an extra year don't do that either. Just do whatever makes you happy!

I feel like originally I had no problem waiting that extra time. But now I’m like wow that is actually a long time away. And I mean originally I wanted to do it later so we could finance and save for it but now I’m kinda wanting to get married sooner.

My thing with dates is that I want a date that means something to me. Like I want it to be significant. I am 100% set on a July wedding because my man’s lucky number is 7. So I want our wedding to have that. But the actual date it’s self could be changed. But none of the other dates on Saturday’s really don’t sound perfect to me. But I definitely could be over thinking. I’m thinking about switching it to the 24th instead.

I get wanting something meaningful, but the day will be meaningful regardless of when it is 😃 the date I went with is Mean Girls day (the movie) and it's also a full moon which is good luck for weddings. I ultimately didn't care, but knew if I could get that date then why not? Fun dates are cool, but I wouldn't plan my whole wedding around it if it wasn't on a Saturday the year I wanted it. But, that's just me.

Ultimately it will be up to you and your FH. I think most venues are a bit cheaper to have your wedding on a Friday, if you want to save some $$. Personally, if the date really meant that much to me I'd just do it on a Friday and maybe have a later than normal start time. Again, its up to you, do what you feel is right. Smiley smile

That is a Summer wedding so it's easier for people to attend a Friday wedding in the Summer than any other season if that's what you're worried about.

My wedding is going to on a Sunday. How I see it is that people who wants to be there will be there. I made sure with my bridal party first though. Also getting married on a Saturday is expensive. Venues give major discount for Friday or Sunday wedding

Glad I could help! There's a website called MoonGlow Jewelry that has jewelry with specific moons. I have one with my birthday moon (full moon) and I'm going to get a 3 moon one of the day we met, our engagement date and wedding date. They're good quality if you get the good quality materials (gold is great, pewter is cheaper). They even glow in the dark if they've been in the sun.

I think a Friday wedding would be fine. We’re doing a Sunday wedding, is that a possibility for you guys?
