Wedding date too a few days before daughters birthday

Arianna, on August 7, 2019 at 1:00 AM Posted in Planning 0 7
Maybe it's me over thinking it all, but we were and still are having trouble with the date of our wedding. My daughter's birthday is two days before the wedding. I feel like it'll be an issue with her feeling left out and especially for the future to come for celebrating anniversaries and her birthday. Am I overthinking this?

I can see why you’re worried, but I don’t think it will be an issue. Just make sure to stop wedding planning on her birthday so she knows she’s important too. In the future, anniversaries won’t be such a big deal with the long, time consuming planning. And as she gets to be a teenager, she won’t want to hang out with you anyway and won’t be bothered (haha). When she’s an adult, you may be able to celebrate both on the same day, or at the very least should understand that you can’t always celebrate a birthday or anniversary on the exact date. As a side note, I’m getting married two days after my fiancé’s birthday, and my son told him I’m going to be his late birthday present.

Aww! Your son sounds so sweet! I agree with this. No planning on her birthday this year. Next year will be easier. My FH's parents just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary yesterday. We called them and sent a card. Regarding her birthday in the future, there's no way of knowing now how involved she'll want you to be with her birthday then.

Just dedicate the whole day to her birthday. Have no wedding talk on her day. I think after the first year it'll be fine. My sister's birthday is right after my parents anniversary, which always coincidences with mother's day, she said it was only bothersome if she had to share her cake.
So don't share the cake 😆

You are. My best friend/moh bday was our wedding day and she didn't care. We acknowledged her bday at the wedding in two ways.

I think it shouldn't be a big deal. It's not like you're getting married on her birthday Smiley smile

I guess it depends on how big of a deal anniversaries and birthdays are in your family. To me, it wouldn't matter. As long as you make sure to make your daughter feel loved and cared for, which I'm sure you will do, it'll be fine Smiley smile

I think it will be fine. My son and my FH(not my son's dad) both share the same bday and my son loves it. We just do a party for my son and my FH and I do something for his bday at another date. We are getting married about 3 weeks before our daughter's bday. Also our wedding is right around the start of school. So it will be crazy when we get married but after it won't be as bad.
