Wedding date- May 1st or June 4th

Maya, on April 20, 2021 at 1:33 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 6
Hi,

I am pregnant so we are postponing our wedding reception to next year. Our venue has both May 1st, 2022 available and June 4th, 2022 available. The venue is in NJ, and we ideally would like to utilize the outdoor area for the ceremony at least.
Which date seems more ideal? Weather wise, etc?

For NJ (originally from PA), weather wise I think June would be much better than May 1st.

I would go for May 1st. it starts getting warm but not too hot. June might be too hot and there's more weddings etc around that time so people might be busy.

I'm always skeptical with that first weekend in June. It's so popular for graduations and other important school events. If none of your guests would be affected, that might be the better option. But like a previous poster said, June can sometimes be very warm. And I might be a little bias because I'm getting married May 1st this year. And when we were planning we opted for May rather than June because my FH is not a fan of the warm weather and I wanted him to be comfortable.

June 4, mostly because I’m biased because I’m a June 4th bride. But May 1st is too close to April it could still be very rainy or cloudy just coming out of April and June 4 is early enough in the month that it’s not crazy hot but it’s also not cold. It’s technically still spring time. Like I said I’m biased but I think it’s a perfect time weather wise.

Also kids are still in school. Proms are at the end of June as are graduations so no conflicts that I know of there. (I’m pretty sure I graduated high school at the end of June. I may have to double check.) but I’m in NYC and I know NJ and NY’s school calendars are pretty similar we start late and end late. So you’re good there.

I'm from the east coast (CT) and my first instinct would be June, east coast weather is so unpredictable, we had snow on mother's day last year.
