Wedding cupcakes and covid

Jasmine, on January 13, 2021 at 1:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
My wedding is on 4.22.21 and unfortunately COVID is still in full swing we will be taking all the precautions. Our wedding will be small, less than 70 guests. I have always wanted to have cupcakes at my wedding in order to have multiple flavors and a small cake for us to cut. I’m really starting to think twice about having cupcakes in display and for everyone to take and just considering having a small cake and just having the servers cut and serve it. I have a strong feeling that my family and my fiancé’s family likely will not feel comfortable eating cupcakes that are on display and I don’t want to have a bunch of them to go to waste. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ask if the baker can serve them in individual boxes.

What about having servers pass them out? They could take a few different flavors walk around the room and offer them to people kind of like they would do with passed apps during cocktail hour.

I agree, have them packaged in individual boxes.

I actually think cupcakes have the potential to be even safer than cake! Have them packaged individually

Back when I brought cupcakes to kids schools for parties, I would put them in the small clear plastic water cups, and then tie tulle with a ribbon around them.

Depending on the state you live in, they may not even allow you to have cupcakes like that. I was told that I’m not allowed to have a cake cutting at mine. They said there cannot be any food out on any sort of display stands. But again it varies from state to state

Wow that’s really strict! I hate to say it but my state doesn’t really have that many restrictions as of right now.

We are strict with Covid in our family. But when you look at the science Covid isn’t spread via cupcakes Smiley smile or from cupcakes sitting out. And this is misinformation that’s spread. What spreads it is when people take their masks off. So if I had distance to eat away from others....I’m eating the cupcake Smiley smile

Our cupcake lady is placing the cupcakes in individual boxes. It is part of her process anyway. We are going to give her cupcake toppers to put on the cupcakes; she said there was enough room to fit them.
