Wedding Coordinator

My event planner learned of engagement before we shared with any of our family and friends. She was up for the challenge. The wedding isnt until OCT. 3, 2020, I feel that she and I are not going to be a good fit. It's been explained that the venue is a very popular elegant place and the owner watches how everything is put together. If he likes her work, her name will be added to the list of event planners for future brides. This also helps her boost business.

She has began to put me off with simple questions and is yet to give us her price/ estimate or sat down with us to discuss a contract and sign. Each time I ask about pricing, she has to talk to someone else to see. I keep procrastinating consulting someone else. My husband-to-be is all for me changing because he doesnt want me stressing over it. His thing is if I'm stressing now by her actions, it will be worse later on. I totally agree. I'm just all about giving chances. I also want to be ahead and get people booked and paid. No last minute surprises. LOOKING FOR INPUT ON THE NEXT STEP TO TAKE. THANKS ALL KINDLY!!!

If you are feeling like she is not a good fit for you that IS okay! You need to let her know that you are feeling this way and start interviewing other planners. Wedding Planners know this is part of the business and it's good that you haven't signed a contract yet so it's easy to get out of.

    Good luck!

Hi Mary! Congratulations on your engagement!

    Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

If you do not feel confident about this event planner, that it’s totally understandable if you want to look for someone else.

Have you expressed any of your concerns with her? Does she know that you are feeling anxious about starting?

You could ask your venue for their list of recommended event planners so that you could perhaps set up some meetings to find someone else.

    What is your venue like?

I'm sorry. I'm just seeing your response. I did express all concerns with her previously. Nothing changed. I have hired a new Planner and things are so much better. Thanks all for helping me in making a decision to move on.

Hi, thank you. She is very sweet. I introduced all of my material to her and she caught right on. She even offered suggestions, which is what I was looking for. She more IMPORTANTLY assured me that we were gonna work together to get what we want accomplished.
