Wedding coordinator, yes or no?

Shayla, on December 22, 2017 at 9:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 26
Morning everyone,
Was just wondering what opinions their are on wedding coordinators or a day of coordinator? We do have a lot of table decor and some decor for the venue space as well, but not too much! Was wondering if it’s worth it to get one? TIA Smiley smile

It's definitely worth it! You and your FH and your family won't and shouldn't be putting stuff together or setting up for your wedding. A wedding coordinator can take care of all of that, and have all of your vendors under control, as well. It's worth the expense!

Morning! I was in between getting a DOC or not. We agreed on a DOC, because I really needed to let go of control. I think a DOC can help with letting you let go of some of the stresses of wedding planning and coordinating.

I plan on getting a Day of Coordinator (DOC) because I am an excellent and organized planner and feel like I can plan the wedding myself, however on the day of I need to be enjoying not running around being a b word, which is why im hiring someone else to do that Smiley smile It is definitely worth it to at least have day of coordination because there is a lot of keeping people on schedule etc. that someone besides you should be in charge of. Hope this helped!

I did not have a DOC because I didn't think I could find room in my budget. I really wish I had found the room in my budget. There were a few things that the venue missed that I think would have been taken care of if I had hired a DOC. You don't want to be running around finalizing stuff on the day of your wedding. If you can afford it let someone else do that for you!

At the very least I suggest a DOC! There is going to be so much going on that day and you don’t want to worry about if the flowers or cake are there, in the right place, setting the tables, etc. It will definitely cut down on your day-off stress. Relax and be pampered!

As someone that didn't use a DOC... I REALLY suggest having one. I think it would have made the day go a lot more smoothly. I have a good friend that stepped in and tried to coordinate things, but that wasn't what I wanted AT ALL. I was upset once I learned about this, because none of my guests should have had to do anything except enjoy themselves. If you can fit in in your budget, definitely get one!

SO WORTH IT! I just hired a DOC and we are a year out! She's been amazing already. We have limited table decor and one location but 130 guests. She will run the rehearsal and also be the main contact for all vendors. She will make a total day of timeline to give to all vendors and bridal party. She will be onsite for 10 hours on my wedding day. We will do a walk through. She will decorate the entire reception area and ceremony area the morning of so I don't have to lift a finger. I'll never know if something goes wrong. She's worth the price for the peace of mind I already have.

If you can afford it, definitely get one. I wish I'd had a pro. We DIYed and and it was very stressful, and made us run late.

I have a Wedding Planner for my destination wedding and she is everything I could ask for. I have a full-time job that's very demanding and I am over 1,000 miles from my wedding location. She has taken care of everything for me, besides a few little things that I said I'd handle myself.

I don't want family members running around, decorating, doing errands, and setting things up when I would rather they just enjoy themselves.

It was a financial investment I made and everything is going well so far. I recommend, only if you can afford it in your wedding funds.

Yes, at least get a DOC. I have heard such great things about DOCs saving the day. My venue had one with our package but I hired one who will be there for me not the hotel. Starting prices were around $1000 but I think it’s well worth it. Best of luck

I'm having a destination wedding, so I splurged on the DOC and I think it will be totally worth it. Before I hired her, I was stressing about who would set up and tear down, etc. Now, I can ship all of my decor to the DOC ahead of time, she sets up and tears down and handles confirming and coordinating all of my vendors for the last few weeks before the wedding (so really, she's a month of coordinator). Worth every penny.

In my case she's our decorator and coordinator. We are spending about $2000 total with her. That includes about 8 table rentals, 40 chiavari chairs, some linens, chair covers and sashes, antique doors for our ceremony, centerpieces, set up and tear down, and also day of coordination. Her husband is also stringing our lights and supplying them. Her sister helps her coordinate the day of and her daughter is our bartender. I know someone who used her for their wedding and loved her. I found her via Facebook actually. I recommend getting one 100%.

We were in the same boat of thinking we didn’t have money in the budget for an “extra” like this. After further thought, we decided to make it work and I am so glad we did. Our coordinator is amazing and so on top of everything. She’s asked us some questions about things we never would have thought to plan for on our own. It’s also very calming to know that if there are any hiccups on the day, she’ll be right there to help troubleshoot rather than everything falling on my shoulders. If you’re on the fence and have any way of making it work, definitely do it.

I'm a corporate event planner by trade and know the intricacies and logistics and things that can go wrong at any event, no matter the level of preparation. I had a DOC and she was worth her weight in gold! Make room in your budget - she was the reason I could relax and truly enjoy my wedding day in peace!

Yes you need one. I was a guest at a wedding without a coordinator and it was a mess at the ceremony.
