I would say go with colors you like!

or you can choose one and your spouse can choose the other and see if it compliments enough

We are doing dusty mauve for the girls and navy for the guys. Seeing your comment, I think ladies in sage green and guys in a light gray would be very pretty! Similar to this:

We were doing sage green and navy blue but my fiancé said it looked like snot so we decided on emerald green and navy blue lol
