Wedding color mess

Diz, on November 12, 2019 at 10:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15
Ladies. I need help bad. So I'm getting married at a theater the room has an art deco style (gold, blue, black). The venue provides black linens, so to save money I am trying to incorporate that.
I have narrowed down my colors to black, gold, rose gold, and champagne. Let me explain...black tablecloths, gold centerpieces, rose gold accents (ie. Votives, vases). I don't want everything to be black and gold ( I just don't love those colors enough). So, I want to incorporate champagne table cloths for the sweetheart table, cake table, and round cocktail tables. Does any of this sound good or make sense? I want my wedding to be cohesive and it just feels disjointed.

Next, major problem bridesmaids and groomsmen. We arent having them stand up with us, but I want one picture with my girls; and he'll gets photos with his guys. We want to do the mismatched look, but I'm confused about which colors to mandate. Any ideas on which colors we should tell the guys and girls to wear based on the mess I have going on above? I was thinking the ladies could wear, black, blush or gold. The guys could wear black or dark gray? Ps. The wedding starts at 5pm.

Just because the color of your tablecloths is black, doesn't mean it has to be one of your wedding colors. For example, our venue came with white linens and it just wasn't worth the extra expense to rent colored ones, so we're keeping the white. That doesn't mean that white is one of our wedding colors. I personally would have the bridesmaids wear another color so that they pop instead of blending in with your linens. Gold, rose gold, or blush would look great. Charcoal or grey would be great for the groomsmen.

This is so smart. So, it's better to say my wedding colors are gold, champagne, and rose gold? Does that sound right?

Please don't do that color uplighting with black n gold. It's too disjointed.

I think you will pull it off. Your girls would look good in gold tones and fabrics like 1 or 2 wear actual gold sequin and the rest wear blush colors or different shades of blush dresses with embellishments (gold).

I think the color choice is good. I don’t get the mismatch bridesmaid dresses. But if they’re not standing up with you, I think it could work.

Id ditch the Black for dresses or suits. The table cloths really dominate color wise, so they lighter colors will pop more.

You could definitely have the girls wear gold/champagne. I’ve attached a picture of the color we are doing for bridesmaids dresses. Very pretty and neutral! Or if you want a pop of color maybe a deep forest/emerald green?? What time of year are you getting married?

Maybe have your girls all wear the same color just in different dresses. I let my girls pick whatever dress they felt more comfortable in but it had to be the same color.

I like that! The guys are planning on wearing a rose gold/mauve colored tie. I think the women should wear gold/blush. Thanks!

I like the black table clothes, Why not use the napkins to tie in the other color you are looking to add. As for the non matching outfits I would do all pastel colors. they match, the guys wear the same color pants and pastel shirts and the same color tie. It would work in my opinion, I don't know what the theme of your wedding is but you have a beautiful venue.

Totally agree with Caytlyn. I think these colors work well together. Your venue is overall a bit darker of a room so I worry if you dressed people in black they would disappear into the surroundings, especially standing next to people in much brighter colors. I LOVE the colors suggested above.
