Wedding china

Lakeya, on August 11, 2020 at 6:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 18
So my question is what’s the best thing to do for wedding China at the reception, because who really wants to buy or rent expensive plates?

You could do heavy duty paper or plastic ones that look nice.

We rented ours. It looked nice and was easy. We had a semi-formal wedding so plastic or paper was not appropriate.

What if you did clear plastic plates (the nicer looking ones) & put a charger plate underneath? Our place settings are being done by our venue with chargers. We had to scale back the wedding to basically parents & bridal party only so it works for our budget. If your wedding isn’t super formal, I wouldn’t stress about it. You could add some pretty linens/table cloths & napkins to spruce it up a bit. Wishing you all the very best!!!

It depends on the formality. For a formal wedding, definitely rent dishes. I would never purchase dishes to be used because when are you going to host another formal party of that size and where would you store them?
For a semiformal wedding, you can rent real dishes or have the caterer provide heavy duty disposables.

I’m doing heavy duty disposable, they’re like $25 for 100 & simple clean up & it would cost more to rent. Only thing I’m buying is my champagne glasses everything else will be heavy duty disposable even wine glasses all from amazon.

I’m using palm leaf plates. They’re compostable and they work with our aesthetic

Our caterer is providing plates, which is pretty common in our area unless you’re looking for something fancier.

We're going to be using clear plastic plates for our reception. Our reception will be more on the casual side and we'll be serving bbq catering so I think that the plastic plates will be fine.
