Wedding Ceremony but no reception after

Ashlee, on January 26, 2020 at 3:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
So I’m thinking about having a wedding ceremony and only with no reception. Does that sound crazy? Has anyone ever done this? If so, what did you do after the ceremony was over? Did everyone just go home or did go to dinner?

That's fine as long as you're not inviting guests. If you are, you should host them to a meal or at least a cake and punch reception, depending on the time of day, to thank them for attending.

I agree with Caytlyn. If you invite anyone (including witnesses) you really need to host them properly. You can just go out to dinner after but you need to pick up the tab.

I think that's a great way to cut costs if you need to because a bulk or most of the costs of a wedding go into the reception. but as pp said, you can always do something small such as cake and punch after

I've personally never heard of this and I don't know how guests would receive it or if they would go.
