Wedding Centerpieces

Hey guysSmiley smile Im DIYing my wedding and so far have completed almost everything. My theme colours are pastel/light pink, white and greenery/some gold accent. For my backdrop I will be making a flower wall and everything is pretty much set. The only thing I'm stuck on is centerpieces. I would like to incorporate the greenery into this however I am also planning on saving costs as much as I can. I'm thinking of DIYing some harlow stands (my fiance can make these) and at the top, I would have greenery and some light pink flowers.

The main issue I'm having is trying to figure out how many stems I would need for average centerpieces. I don't need it to be giant and extravagant, but I also don't want it to be tiny. Do you guys have any pictures of any DIY centerpieces you've made? I'm planning on ordering from Costco. Do you have any experience with this? How many stems did you use? I'm open to most flowers but I've noticed that roses, baby's breath and greenery seem to be the cheapest/best bang for your buck (where I live, hydrangeas are pretty expensive for the amount of guests I will have--I don't live in Florida, the website wouldn't let me put my actual city in Canada haha). I will have between 22-30 tables depending on our final list

PS. Please don't tell me to hire a vendor or explain how difficult this task will be. I have a huge family who is willing to help and have all DIYd their own weddings before and I know how time-consuming this task will be. I cannot hire a vendor because they are extremely expensive and my fiance and I are only students. I would appreciate all of the help I can get Smiley smile

Thank you!!!

I don’t know if this will help since you are doing real flowers but this is my current centerpiece. I needed about 75-80 artificial roses to make it full all the way around. I would have needed closer to 100 had I not incorporated the hydrangeas which took up a littler more surface area.

Hey Sarah! Congratulations on your engagement and welcome to the WeddingWire community!

It’s quite difficult to say exactly how many stems you would need per centerpiece since ‘not giant but not tiny’ is quite subjective. Would it be within your budget to do a trial run and order a number of flowers to figure out exactly how many you will need per centerpiece? This will most likely eliminate some stress closer to your wedding since you will know that you are ordering the exact amount you need as you don’t want to spend more than you need, but you also don’t want to be left short!

Your wedding colors sound beautiful, they will look great together! I love greenery in centerpieces!

I DIYed my own centerpieces, but they are made with silk flowers not real ones. It was relatively easy and cheap getting bulk flowers from craft stores on their 50%-70% off days.
