I went to literally like a dozen bakeries and they pretty much quoted me $600 for a cake that served 200 or so people. in the end i spent half of that at the last bakery i found.

I have some ideas of cakes that I like saved, but I haven't started getting prices or anything yet.

Our wedding cake was included in the cost per person that we paid for food and beverage to our venue's in-house catering. Our venue had a contract with a local bakery to provide the cake.

Our cake is $750 for 120 people. Includes delivery and a fresh top tier on our one year anniversary. We decided after paying for our cake that we are reducing to 65 guests, so we'll get a credit from the bakery.

Our cake was luckily included with catering. We are paying I think a couple hundred for upgrades and a grooms cake.

As someone who decorates wedding cakes, find out how much they want to charge you per person. And also know what you are looking for decor-wise, at least in general, before asking for a quote. Do you want it all buttercream? Fondant? Will there be sugar flowers? Real flowers? Will the bakery need to provide the topper? My bakery typically starts at $4-5/per person, but we try to be affordable. I'm having a destination wedding, and my cake will probably be $7-8/person.

    Hope this helps!

We're estimating $540 right now (in MD) - that's for a 2-tier cake that feeds 25 and two 1/2 sheet cakes that feed 50 each, but we'll downgrade to 1/4 sheet cakes depending on RSVPs. The pricing works out to $7.80/person for the tiered cake (a lot more work and decoration involved!) and $2.40/person for the sheet cakes, plus delivery and taxes.

My cake was included with my venue but a typical 4 tier cake would be $600-$1000 depending on the decorations

Ours was only $135. It was small though. Only a 2 tier that served 63 people. We did, however, do a dessert bar in addition to our cake. Our cake baker made all of our desserts as well. We had a 100 guest wedding.

I’m going with cupcakes and a mini cake for the wedding party.
My estimated cost will be about 350 for cupcakes (1 for each guest) and about 40 dollars for our cake.
Everyone is going to pay different prices depending on guests, cake style, travel and delivery, set up, etc..

We are so fortunate that my FH's mom and grandma used to run a side hustle doing wedding and event cakes. They are doing our cake as our wedding gift. I think we will end up having 2 or 3 tiers but each on separate stands.

Our 3-tier cake is coming to around $800 for ~130 people. From the research I've done, this is pretty standard for the area I live in (around Boston).

I think we were quoted ~$450 for a three tier cake with about 150 servings plus delivery to the venue. We went with a local grocery store in TN because most of the other recommended cake vendors were unavailable for our date, so I’m not sure how the price compares, but my planner assured me that’s a good deal lol!

Our 3 tier cake is included in the all inclusive package that we signed for at our venue but it’s around $450. That includes delivery & set up.

We paid about $600 for a two tier cake for around 80 people.

....But we got married in NYC.

Check out the cost calculator under "Planning Tools", above. That can help you figure out averages in your area.

Our cake is $320. It’s a two tier display cake that will feed about 40 people (bridal party/immediate family). Then we requested a large sheet cake already pre-cut in the kitchen that will be served for the remaining guests. Saved tons!
