Wedding Cake under $200?

CourtneyBrittain, on June 10, 2019 at 4:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Is it possible to have a pretty AND delicious wedding cake for under $200? Though we will have 250 people, we will have a small cake for the immediate family/bridal party but lots of sheet cakes from Costco for everyone else, delicious!

With a budget of $200, is it possible to get a good strawberry cake for 20 people to eat?

I'm in the Dallas, TX area if that helps.

Can you see if Costco can do this since that’s where you’re getting your sheet cakes from anyway? I’m sure most places can do this, but for that small of a cake, they may charge extra for delivery if you don’t have someone to pick it up.

That totally sounds possible, especially because you'd have sheet cakes for the guests so you just need something very small cake for 20 people. Check with bakeries around, I'm sure it's doable.

Engagement CakeWedding Cake under $200? 1

Look for small mom and pop shops or newer bakeries, ask for a tasting. I'm in the LA area and for my engagement party we got a beautiful cake 2 tiers buttercream with fillings for $170. Fed at least 50, 10" and 12" tiers.

Absolutely. We are doing a 2 tier cake that serves 43 (then doing a dessert bar). One flavor on the top and a different in the bottom. The cake is gorgeous and absolutely delicious!!! And it’s only $135.

We just bought our cake from Sam’s club. We picked a 2-tier to serve us, parents, and bridal party; and we plan on serving a sheet cake to everyone else. Everything was under $100.

We had a local home baker do a 6" round ice cream cake for the two of us. I think it was $35 and we tipped her $20 for delivering it 20 minutes out of town (though delivery was included). Like you, we then bought two sheet cakes from Costco for our 90 guests. It worked out fabulously and we spent less than $100 for it all.

A friend of mine went to a baker for their wedding cake, but said it was for a 50th anniversary party, the same exact cake was hundreds less. Once you mention wedding the price of everything goes up, it’s crazy.

I am in the LA area as well. Is it possible to have the name of the bakery looking for someone to make cupcakes for my cupcake tower.
