Wedding cake icing

I have decided to do a full size sheet cake for our wedding. The only thing I am having trouble with is deciding if I want it to be black fondant or icing or have it all white with black gold and purple designs. Or have it white with black branches on it. I'm having trouble looking and deciding. My wedding is in 3 months

    People say fondant doesn't really taste good Lol. So icing might be a better option.

    Most people don’t like fondant. It makes for a nice design but tastes horrible and everyone peels it off the cake. Do you have any pictures of designs you like? One thing to keep in mind is that black frosting will give everyone black teeth from eating it.

    I heard the same thing!! And I love dark wedding cakes but people are telling me the teeth will be stained black if I went that route

    What kind of design do you have in mind? Maybe you could go black on the cake décor instead and keep the cake itself on the lighter side.

    I am thinking branches on the cake with a monogram on the top part of the cake.

    Black will 100% make your mouth black so use it sparingly. Fondant tastes ok as long as the cake itself is strongly flavored like chocolate with icing inside.

    I would definitely do icing. People will just peel the fondant off the cake! (the only exception is if you can find a marshmallow fondant - I make it at home and its amazing haha)

    If you're doing black icing I would be careful because people's mouths will turn black and purple due to the color of the icing!

    I really like the idea of white with black branches and incorporating the gold in the design somewhere (maybe black branches with gold leaves??)

    Thank you ladies. I believe it will be icing, white with black branches and a monogram in the center of the cake.. and some gold leaves
