Wedding cake flower and pricing 1
Hi soon to be brides, how much does cake flower cost? I just got a quote that flowers like in the picture will cost around $60 bucks, and I feel like that should be around $20-$30, for $60 it’s more for a small bouquet or small centerpiece. What do you guys think?

For real flowers I could totally see $60. But for fake flowers, you could probably do it for $10-$20. You might be able to tell the person making your cake that you'll supply the flowers, that way you don't spend a lot. But totally up to you.

If it’s real flowers I feel like that price may be correct. Flowers are expensive.

Ah. Our cake lady offered to get the flowers for us and didn't even charge us for them. I believe they will be fake ones. I would def shop around. I went to one florist and it was outrageous. I found another florist and got more items for a lower price. You could even look on etsy for flowers or hobby lobby sells wood flowers you can dye yourself.

$60 may be accurate for real flowers. Especially depending on where you live. My bridal bouquet alone is nearly $300 and my bridesmaids small bouquet is $125.

Sounds about right. Our florist charged $70-80 I believe for our cake florals. We did have our wedding at HCOL city though.

Our florist charged $75 for fresh flowers on the cake. Depending on the quality of your florist, what you've been quoted sounds about right.

I definitely agree, the price of real flowers are ridiculous just for them to die 🥴. That’s why I wanted fake flowers at our wedding because I’m not spending that much on flowers lol

It would depend on the kind of flowers and whether or not the florist has to do anything to the flowers to keep them fresh and make them safe to put on the cake. I paid $15 for loose flowers to put in my hair and she gave us about the same quantity that you'd be putting on your cake, but it didn't include any of the more expensive flowers from my house and obviously there were no food safety considerations, so she didn't have to do anything special with them.

Something to think about on this topic is that the quote from your florist is not just for the flowers themselves. You could go to the store and buy a few flowers for under $60. But what you're paying for is the florist to source the best blooms, take care of them during the week of your wedding, deliver them to your venue, and painstakingly apply them to your cake, where there are NO do-overs possible. The stress of applying flowers to a cake in such a detailed design, as the photo you provided, is no joke.

Remember, you aren't just paying for bulk flowers when you hire a florist. You're paying for a work of art (emphasis on WORK) and supporting the business behind the people who are making your wedding beautiful.
