Wedding Cake Delivery Time

I'm a couple days away from the wedding and meeting with the vendor that will be doing our cake. The guests will be greeted at the wedding reception around 5:00 PM. What would be a good time to have the cake delivered.

Is it going to be sitting outside? or will it be inside?
consult with your baker about how long they think it should be out and how long they need for setup.
your photographer will probably want to get pictures of the reception before people go in.
maybe an hour?

@surfergirl86 Thanks for your great advice I didn't think of all of those factors. The cake will be inside. The cake has to setup by the vendor because the venue refuses to touch the cake.

Hi date twin! My wedding starts at 3, and my reception is in the same room. So my bakers will be delivering and setting up my cakes around 12:30-1pm. But always ask and confirm your time.

The baker will likely tell you when she or he will deliver it. It will probably be before your guests start arriving. I never even saw my cake delivered/set up to the venue, but it was there.

Our reception starts at 6:00. Our baker is going to deliver the cake between 4:30-5:00.
