I hate to say it as I used bake and decorate for a side job and for a 6 tier I doubt it will be a couple of hundred unless you are buying from Sam's Club or Walmart. Even a home baker I am considering to work with charged $500 for a 4 tier cake for a wedding. I would call and check for your area but because of time, ingredients and design most bakers won't charge that little. I had people charging that much for a two tier cake.

My cake is included in the package for my venue. But we get a “standard cake” with tiers based on the amount of guests. So they told us 5/6 tiers. We’re inviting a little over 200 so we’re expecting 180-190. I’m just hoping that the design I want will only be a couple hundred extra because I’m sure it’s not “standard”

Ahhhhhhhhhh that is a good deal that it came as a part of a package because if not...that would have been more ha ha. Show pics later and hope it is yummy.

I definitely will!! We’re still deciding what flavor. I really like just plain vanilla/white cake but he wants red velvet I think. I haven’t consulted with him on a lot of options so I think I’ll let him have this one.

We're getting a single tier rosette cake mainly for cutting (just like the purple and white one) for 100 bucks. Then we're getting a full sheet cake for the guests running us around 75 dollars. So our budget for the cakes are pretty small.

Different tiers and different flavor. Luckily we both love chocolate cake but maybe do a mixed cake with one layer being vanilla and one red velvet?

We're very lucky that we know people who make amazing cakes. My matron of honor is making the wedding cake and a good friend of my fiance is making the groom's cake. Neither of them want money for it, but we at least want to pay for the supplies. They both make professional looking and delicious cakes, so we really lucked out!

It's just tradition at pretty much every wedding I've been to to have a second cake. While the wedding cake is traditionally white and formal, the groom's cake is often a more fun design and a different flavor, usually smaller as well. Having said that, my groom wants a vanilla cake and I want the wedding cake to be chocolate, so there's definitely room to make it your own.

I'm a cake decorator so I'm doing a dummy cake with a slice of real cake in the bottom tier for photos I'll have sheets in the back my cake will be $60 and that's for materials we are also doing a dessert bar which will be about $120 3 types of jumbo cookies cookies, 2 types of brownies, 4 types of mini cheesecakes, and I'm probably missing some things lol but for cake flavors we are doing almond with raspberry filling, red velvet and fudge, yellow cake with caramel and Bavarian filling and all of them will be iced in cream cheese whipped icing.

That cake is gorgeous!! However, I have never been to a reception where everyone ate cake. There was always a lot left over!! I’m planning making a beautiful dummy cake, and two sheet cakes to be cut out of view and served for under $120.00. It will be a silent cake cutting, so only the photographer will be getting pics of us. The groom’s cake will be chocolate with a bass guitar motif.

We are getting a six inch cutting cake. It's pink champagne flavor with a raspberry mousse filling. The frosting is cream cheese.

Our guests are getting large pink champagne cupcakes and mini carrot cake and lemon cupcakes.
We are renting a stand from the bakery.
    Our total was $180.00

Our budget was $1,000 for the cake as well, and we were finding it challenging to stay under that. Our 3-tier display cake (relatively small - 6", 8", 10", I believe) plus a kitchen cake that will altogether serve 120 is coming out to about $1,100. We're in the Seattle area and that seems like pretty standard pricing here.
