Just curious to know what everyone's wedding budget is? Are you DIYing it or hiring others for everything? What area are you in, I know some areas are more costly than others. ******************************************************************* EDITED TO ADD*****************Please keep this friendly!...

    130 people in .CA, 20k.

Im only diy for my centerpeices. Open bar, plated meals, photobooth and all the other typical wedding vendors. I just shopped around for the best prices and reviews, it took awhile.

I'm in the Bay Area. We had originally budgeted about 20k but it's coming in closer to 35. Owwwwww. I'm DIYing a lot though. Invites, STDs, decor, etc.

We're at 10K for 250 people. I have a friend doing the catering/dj/lights/and possibly officiating for free (I'm going to pay him don't worry.) my photographer and videographer are friends and they are doing it for cheap as well. My moms doing flowers, a friend is sewing the bridesmaids dresses and my sister is making her daughters dresses. So far with everything estimated we're looking at 7.5k. Oh and we're building the farm tables because it's cheaper to build then rent. And the venue is a historic farm that gave me a great discount for having grown up going there.

Scratch a tiny budget and you'll find it stuffed with friendors which generally, a poor idea reiterated time and time again here.

Northeast US, 225 guests, 4 plated courses, 12 piece band, cocktail hour food spread, dessert bar, etc. Budget was 75k (not including rings, bridal party gifts, honeymoon) and we went over. DIY was confined to escort cards, programs, and menus.

We suspect to go over about $5-6 grand, but y'know how it is. I saved literally thousands by making paper bouquets/bouteniers/corsages instead of hiring a florist for that. I will not be using real flowers at all! My reception area is predecorated, so I saved cash there as well. I went for a very simple cake design (I'm gonna brag...my cake is $150!). I prefer simple styles of dresses, which the fanciest dress I've liked is under $400. I haven't bought one yet, but that's a pretty big cost you can cut if you don't mind something simple. But for the most part, I'd say that's an area you don't need to cut on, you get the dress you love! Lastly, because I'm having a DW, I'm only renting the really nice hotel by the beach for 1 night so my BMs and I can have a nicer place to get ready in. We will be staying in a decent (but not fancy) hotel the rest of the time. Hope this helps you get ideas!

Including honeymoon, we have about $5000 for 22. But no dancing, no DJ. Just drinks and food at our house after the *short* ceremony. No big dress and only 1 hour for the photographer, too.

ETA: We're located near the va/wva line.

We're getting married in downtown Chicago. Budget was originally 60k for roughly 175 (not including rings or honeymoon) and it will likely end up somewhere around 70k. Zero DIY for us unless you count us assembling our invites we ordered from a stationer, which did take about 12 hours.

ETA: Forgot the number of guests!

I am hoping for $20,000 for 75-100 people. Our wedding is in the upstate NY region. I am coming to find that total wedding cost has a lot to do with venues. When I was searching out venues, I came across a wide range of prices.

If someone is gifting something to you it doesn't erase it from the wedding budget? I'm so confused on these threads people say things like "oh my budget is 5k for 200 people" but later add their parents are paying for the catering or the venue. Your wedding didn't cost 5k. That's just how much you contributed.

My parents graciously paid for the majority of the wedding but H and I paid for gifts, hotels, hair/makeup, jewelry/accessories, lots of extra little things......but I can't say my 95 person wedding only cost us 1 or 2k bc that's how much H and I put in lol.

We are planning to spend between 6000 to 7000

We have a destination wedding with around 80 people in Italy. The venue is free and the Photographer is a talented student (almost ready) who did already work with us for 800. We save all the money on flowers by growing them and i did my Jewellry and dress myself ( shoes and invitations we diying as well) Edit because i forgot , we do not have a bridal party or a rehearsal dinner.

5k for 100 guests. Most of all of it will be DIY. My venue will be 3800 for 10 hrs and that includes the catering and bartender. I got a great deal for booking out so early!

Utah bride here, my (naive) budget when I started planning was $10K. It has since doubled and more, I learned veryyyyyy quickly that weddings are crazy expensive especially to have the fairytale wedding I dreamed of *crying*. Budget is now reasonably looking at coming in under $25K for ~175people and then we're having a religious ceremony and reception in England where my family are located for under $2000 (75 people) so I feel glad that I was able to do one of them for cheap!
